Oztik Pour-On Tick Inhibitor for Cattle is a tick development inhibitor and kills ticks progressively. The development inhibiting effect commences within 3 days of treatment. It can take 2 to 3 weeks for cattle to be visibly free of ticks. No additional treatment is necessary during that time, even on heavily infested animals.

Active constituent: 25 g/L Fluazuron.

Use: Beef cattle after weaning. Queensland, Northern Territory, Western Australia and New South Wales only. Apply in two bands, about 7 cm wide, on each side of the spine between the rump and the shoulders with a suitable applicator.

Withholding periods: Meat: DO NOT USE less than 42 days before slaughter. Calves which have suckled on treated cows must not be slaughtered less than 4 months after the last treatment. Milk: DO NOT USE on cattle which are producing or may in the future produce milk for human consumption. Export Slaughter Interval (ESI): DO NOT USE less than 42 days before slaughter for export.

Restraints and safety: Contraindicated for use on pregnant cows within 6 weeks of calving to avoid handling stress. Should not be applied to show cattle as a light scurfiness may be visible for some time after treatment. Harmful if swallowed. Will damage eyes and skin. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Repeated exposure may cause allergic disorders. DO NOT contaminate fish ponds, dams or rivers with the product or used containers. The product is very toxic to aquatic invertebrates. Store below 30°C (room temperature).

For use in Queensland, Northern Territory, Western Australia and New South Wales only. Dose rate: 101-150 kg 9 mL; 151-200 kg 12 mL; 201-250 kg 15 mL; 251-300 kg 18 mL; 301-350 kg 21 mL; 351-400 kg 24 mL; 401-450 kg 27 mL; 451-500 kg 30 mL; 501-550 kg 33 mL; 551-600 kg 36 mL; 601-650 kg 39 mL. Add 3 mL for each 50 kg above 650 kg. The weight of cattle should be determined by either scales or a weighband. Dose individuals according to the heaviest animal in the mob. DO NOT underdose. Apply in two bands, about 7 cm wide, on each side of the spine between the rump and the shoulders with a suitable applicator. Re-treat when you first see ticks but not before at least 6 weeks after the previous treatment. Maximum number of treatments per annual tick season: 3. There is no need to treat calves as long as they suckle treated cows. A reduced length of protection may occur in cows which are suckling calves. Should not be applied to show cattle as a light scurfiness may be visible for some time after treatment. DO NOT USE on cattle which are producing or may in the future produce milk for human consumption. Contraindicated for use on pregnant cows within 6 weeks of calving to avoid handling stress.
