A tick development inhibitor that kills ticks progressively; therefore, it can take two to three weeks for cattle to be visibly free of ticks.
No additional treatment is necessary during that time, even on heavily infested animals.
Oztik begins to inhibit tick development within three days of treatment and may give adequate control of ticks for prolonged periods, depending on growth of cattle and the effects of lactation.

Oztik is used for the strategic control of the cattle tick, Boophilus microplus (including all known acaricide resistant strains) on beef cattle.
Oztik breaks the tick life cycle.
When treated with Oztik, immature ticks are unable to moult to the next stage of their life cycle, and no larvae will hatch from eggs laid by treated females.
Oztik not only provides long-term tick protection for cattle but it may also help lower the tick burden in the pasture.
Dosage:
3 mL for every 50 kg bodyweight.

Dose rate & administration
Apply in two bands, approximately 7 cm wide, one on each side of the spine between rump and shoulders using a suitable applicator. For beef cattle after weaning only. Do not treat calves — calves suckling treated cows receive adequate protection through their mother. Do not re-treat within 6 weeks. Maximum 3 treatments per annual tick season.

Tips for Best Results
- Weigh cattle accurately — never estimate body weight. Underdosing reduces efficacy and can contribute to resistance development in tick populations.
- Fluazuron belongs to the benzoylphenyl urea (chitin inhibitor) chemical class — a distinct mode of action from organophosphates, synthetic pyrethroids, amidines, and macrocyclic lactones. Where acaricide resistance is a concern in your area, rotating between chemical classes helps preserve the effectiveness of each. - Because Oztik works by breaking the tick life cycle rather than providing a knock-down kill, do not retreat heavily infested animals during the two to three week clearance period — additional treatment is not necessary and can add unnecessary chemical pressure.
- Oztik may also help reduce tick burdens on your pasture over time by preventing larvae hatching from eggs laid by treated females, making it a useful strategic tool within a whole-property tick management program.
- Store in original container below 30°C away from direct sunlight. Keep accurate treatment records including date, mob, weights, dose applied, batch number, and withholding period expiry — good records are essential for marketplace compliance and resistance management.
