Neovemox Long-Acting Injection for Cattle treats and controls moxidectin-sensitive internal and external parasites in cattle.
The higher concentration of Moxidectin provides longer parasite protection and a premium choice for cattle tick management without any known effect on dung beetles.
It is effective against sensitive strains of the following parasites:
Internal parasites (Mature (adult) and immature (L4)):
Haemonchus placei (Barber’s pole worm), Haemonchus contortus, Ostertagia ostertagi / Ostertagia lyrata (including inhibited larvae), Trichostrongylus spp. (Black scour worms), Trichostrongylus axei, Cooperia oncophora (Small intestinal worm), Cooperia pectinate, Cooperia punctata, Oesophagostomum radiatum (Nodule worm), Bunostomum phlebotomum (Hookworm), Trichuris discolor (Whipworm), Trichuris ovis, Dictyocaulus viviparus (Lungworm).

When Neovemox Long-Acting Injection for Cattle is used at the recommended dose rate as a single subcutaneous injection, it prevents re-infection of cattle with the following parasites (Parasite species & Persistent protection period):

Trichostrongylus axei – 72 days

Dose rate & administration
1 mL per 100 kg by subcutaneous injection into the back of the ear at its base only — do not inject at any other site. Use a 5 mL injector gun with a 16 or 18-gauge, 12–18 mm needle. Animal must be confined in a head bail. Inject slowly, then apply finger pressure to the site for a few seconds. Maximum dose 5 mL — do not use in cattle over 500 kg. Discard unused portion after 6 months of first broaching.

Tips for Best Results
- Weigh accurately, every time. Underdosing is a leading driver of drench resistance — use a weighbridge or calibrated scales and dose to the heaviest animal in the mob. Never guess liveweight.
- Macrocyclic Lactone (ML) resistance awareness. Moxidectin is a Macrocyclic Lactone (ML), the same drench class as ivermectin and abamectin. ML resistance in cattle worms, particularly Cooperia spp., is increasingly detected in Australia. Where possible, use WormBoss-recommended drench resistance testing (larval development assay or DrenchCheck) to confirm efficacy on your property before relying on any single drench class.
- Manage refugia. WormBoss principles strongly advise leaving a proportion of your herd untreated at drenching time where refugia management is applicable — worms in untreated animals that haven't been exposed to drenches help dilute resistant worm populations on pasture. - Rotate drench classes strategically. Don't rotate for rotation's sake — WormBoss recommends rotating based on resistance test results rather than a calendar schedule. Combining drench classes or rotating to a different mode of action (such as a BZ or Levamisole product) based on confirmed resistance data is a more sustainable approach than automatic annual rotation.
- Storage matters. Store Neovemox as directed on the label — typically below 30°C, out of direct sunlight, and away from children and animals. Do not freeze. Check the expiry date before use.
- Keep records. Record the date treated, product used, batch number, animals treated, and liveweights. Good records support resistance monitoring, withholding period compliance, and herd health planning.
