Dose rate & administration
1 mL per 100 kg liveweight (equivalent to 1 mg moxidectin/kg) by subcutaneous injection into the back of the ear towards its base only. Do not administer anywhere else on the animal. Avoid intravascular injection. For use in cattle between 100–1,000 kg.
Use the special Cydectin 5 mL cattle injector gun only — do not use any other injector or the sheep LA injector. A maximum of 5 mL can be injected into one site: for cattle above 500 kg, split the total dose between both ears (half the volume into the back of each ear towards its base).

- Weigh a representative sample of animals before treatment — never estimate liveweight. Dose to the heaviest animal in the group. Do not underdose.
- Do not retreat for at least 56 days after administration.
- Use contents within 6 months of first broaching. Discard unused portion.
- Store below 30°C, protect from light.
Withholding period
Meat: do not use less than 56 days before slaughter for human consumption. ESI: 108 days — confirm current ESI from Virbac (1800 242 100) or apvma.gov.au/residues before export slaughter. Use permitted in cattle that may be exported live for breeding; do not use in cattle that may be exported live for slaughter.
Milk: do not use in lactating cows or within 80 days of calving where milk or milk products may be used for human consumption.

Tips for Best Results
- Weigh cattle accurately using scales — never estimate liveweight. Underdosing is a leading contributor to drench resistance developing in your herd.
- Moxidectin is a Macrocyclic Lactone (ML or Group 3). As with all ML drenches, rotate to a different chemical class on subsequent treatments to slow the development of resistance. Speak to your vet or animal health advisor about a planned rotation strategy suited to your property.
- To preserve refugia and slow resistance, avoid treating every animal in the herd at every opportunity. Where practical, leave a proportion of low-risk animals untreated so susceptible worm populations remain in the gene pool — this is a core WormBoss resistance management principle.
- The long-acting formulation replaces up to four standard treatments, making record keeping especially important. Record the date treated, cattle mob, liveweights and product batch number so you can accurately track when re-treatment is due and maintain your chemical rotation schedule.
- Store as directed on the label. Virbac recommends checking storage requirements to maintain product efficacy over the extended treatment window.
