Cydectin Long Acting Injection for Cattle has a unique formulation that prolongs the release of moxidectin providing a higher plasma concentration of moxidectin for longer.

For the treatment and control of roundworms, nasal bot and itchmite in sheep.
Protection Period
When used at the recommended dose rate as a single subcutaneous injection, it prevents reinfection with:
- Haemonchus contortus (barber's pole worm): Not less than 91 days
- Teladorsagia (Ostertagia) circumcincta: Not less than 91 days
- Trichostrongylus colubriformis (black scour worm): Up to 49 days
Provides protection against severe challenge by Haemonchus contortus for up to 4 months.
Dosage and Administration
Dose Rate: 1 mg moxidectin/kg liveweight (1 mL / 20 kg liveweight)
Administration: Must be administered by subcutaneous (under the skin) injection at the base of the ear or high on the neck behind the ear. Use the special Cydectin® LA sheep injector gun only. Do not use any other injector.

Important: DO NOT USE IN LAMBS LESS THAN 20 KG. Use contents within 6 months of first broaching of the vial. Discard unused portion.
Retreatment Interval
Must not be retreated for at least 91 days after administration.

Tips for Best Results
- Weigh cattle accurately using scales — never estimate liveweight. Underdosing is a leading contributor to drench resistance developing in your herd.
- Moxidectin is a Macrocyclic Lactone (ML or Group 3). As with all ML drenches, rotate to a different chemical class on subsequent treatments to slow the development of resistance. Speak to your vet or animal health advisor about a planned rotation strategy suited to your property.
- To preserve refugia and slow resistance, avoid treating every animal in the herd at every opportunity. Where practical, leave a proportion of low-risk animals untreated so susceptible worm populations remain in the gene pool — this is a core WormBoss resistance management principle.
- The long-acting formulation replaces up to four standard treatments, making record keeping especially important. Record the date treated, cattle mob, liveweights and product batch number so you can accurately track when re-treatment is due and maintain your chemical rotation schedule.
- Store as directed on the label. Virbac recommends checking storage requirements to maintain product efficacy over the extended treatment window.
