Cydectin Injection for Cattle contains 10 g/L moxidectin. For the treatment and control of moxidectin sensitive internal and external parasites.
Parasites controlled
Mature and immature (L4) roundworms: Haemonchus placei (barbers pole worm), H. contortus, H. similis (not known to occur in Australia), Ostertagia ostertagi (including inhibited larvae), Trichostrongylus spp, T. axei, T. colubriformis, Cooperia surnabada, C. oncophora, C. pectinata, C. punctata, C. spatulata (not known to occur in Australia), Oesophagostomum radiatum, Bunostomum phlebotomum, Trichuris discolor, T. ovis and Dictyocaulus viviparus (lungworm).
Adult nematodes: Nematodirus spathiger, N. helvetianus.
Sucking lice: Linognathus vituli, Haematopinus eurysternus, Solenopotes capillatus.
Mites: Psoroptes ovis (not known to occur in Australia), Chorioptes bovis.
Aids in the control of Bovicola bovis (biting lice).
Cattle tick
Cydectin Injection for Cattle is effective for treatment and control of cattle tick, including strains resistant to organophosphates, synthetic pyrethroids and amidines. The persistent activity of Cydectin Injection for Cattle prevents the development of viable cattle tick (Rhipicephalus australis (Boophilus microplus)) for 28 days after treatment. For strategic programs treatment at 28 day intervals is recommended.
Persistent activity
Prevents reinfection with Haemonchus placei and Trichostrongylus axei for up to 14 days, Ostertagia ostertagi for not less than 21 days and Dictyocaulus viviparus for not less than 35 days.
May be used at the recommended dose rate in all ages and breeds of cattle including pregnant females and breeding bulls. Does not cause irritation at the injection site.

What does Cydectin Injection for Cattle control?
It is for the treatment and control of moxidectin sensitive internal and external parasites of cattle, including gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworm, sucking lice, mites and cattle tick (including strains resistant to organophosphates, synthetic pyrethroids and amidines).
How long does it keep working?
It prevents reinfection with Haemonchus placei and Trichostrongylus axei for up to 14 days, Ostertagia ostertagi for not less than 21 days and Dictyocaulus viviparus for not less than 35 days, and prevents the development of viable cattle tick for 28 days after treatment.
What is the dose?
0.2 mg moxidectin/kg liveweight: 1.0 mL/50 kg for animals over 100 kg and 0.5 mL/25 kg for animals up to 100 kg, administered subcutaneously (if possible, inject high on the neck behind the ear).
