Sulfomac 750WG Herbicide is primarily a soil residual herbicide with some knockdown action.

Sulfomac 750WG Herbicide controls susceptible weeds through both post-emergence and pre-emergence (residual) action.

Sulfomac 750WG Herbicide is a broad spectrum herbicide that can be used for the control of annual and perennial grasses and broadleaf weeds in commercial and industrial areas, rights of way including road, rail and utility lines, Eucalyptus spp. and Corymbia spp. plantations.

Sulfomac 750WG Herbicide may be applied pre-emergence or post-emergence to the weeds; best results are obtained if application is made before or during the early stages of weed growth.

Sulfomac 750WG Herbicide may be applied in non crop & industrial situations e.g. application to roadsides, fire break areas or around roadside furniture (Follow the Industrial use recommendations on the label).

Care should be taken to avoid Sulfomac application in areas where movement could cause off target damage.

Under certain conditions- such as when soils are saturated with moisture or during periods of exceptionally heavy rainfall, residual herbicides may wash to non target areas.

Sulfomac 750 WG Herbicide is absorbed by plants via foliage and roots and can therefore be used when weeds have emerged (post-emergence) or prior to weed emergence (pre-emergence).

Soil moisture is necessary to activate uptake, and product sprayed onto dry soils or soils under drought stress will prove less than effective.

Sulfomac 750 WG Herbicide can be mixed with Glyphosate herbicides when spraying established weeds to achieve a superior level of knockdown & extended residual weed control.

The compatibility of Sulfomac with other residual herbicides gives a cheap and effective solution to extending the control of some hard to kill weeds and broadening the range of species controlled.

Sulfomac is also effective as a directed or shielded spray in post plant weed control operations.

Only Ground Boom and Handgun/Knapsack are recommended

Application Instructions

Active Constituent: 750 g/kg Sulfometuron Methyl

Group: B Group Herbicide

Application Rates

  • Easy-to-kill Annual Weeds: 200 or 400 g/ha (20 or 40 g/100L, 3 or 6 g/15L)
  • Harder-to-kill Annual Weeds: 400 or 600 g/ha (40 or 60 g/100L, 6 or 9 g/15L)
  • Woody Weeds & Perennials: 600 g/ha (60 g/100L, 9 g/15L)

Application Method

Ground based only - boom spray, hand-gun, or knapsack application. For roadside applications, confine treatment to the area between the edge of the bitumen and the roadside shoulder.

Restraints

  • DO NOT apply to drainage ditches and channels
  • DO NOT apply during periods of intense rainfall or to water-saturated soils
  • DO NOT store tank mixes for more than 24 hours
  • DO NOT store suspension for more than 2 days as it may degrade, particularly in acid solutions

For weeds advanced beyond the 4-leaf stage or when more rapid knockdown is required, tank mix with Glyphosate Herbicide. Always add a surfactant except when tank mixing with Glyphosate. Use the higher rate for longer term residual control.

Always read the current registered product label before use. Dose rates and withholding periods on this page are provided as a guide only. The registered label supplied with the product is the legal document and takes precedence. If in doubt, contact TGRM on (07) 5482 1692 or the manufacturer directly.

Mixing Instructions

Add the required amount of product to spray tank at least half-full of clean water. Mix thoroughly and add remaining water while agitating continuously. Maintain agitation during spraying.

Tank Mixing

For forestry use, Sulfomac 750 WG can be tank mixed with various herbicides including Glyphosate products, Goal, Verdict, Garlon, Halomac, Glymac, Clomac, and Basta. When tank mixing, add products in the specified order and mix well between additions.

Surfactants & Adjuvants

Always add a non-ionic surfactant at 125 mL/100L or 20 mL/15L except when tank mixing with Glyphosate Herbicide. Wetting agents such as Nufilm P, Input, or Exit may be used as per manufacturer's recommendations.

Application Timing

Apply to actively growing weeds. For advanced weeds beyond 4-leaf stage, tank mix with Glyphosate for more rapid knockdown. Use higher rates for longer term residual control.

Storage

Keep from contact with fertilisers, other pesticides and seeds during storage. Store in closed original container in a cool, well-ventilated area. DO NOT store for prolonged periods in direct sunlight.

Common Questions

What weeds does Sulfomac 750 WG control?

Sulfomac 750 WG is a broad spectrum herbicide that controls susceptible annual and perennial grasses and broadleaf weeds. It works through both post-emergence (knockdown) and pre-emergence (soil residual) action, making it effective across a wide range of weed species.

Where can I use this product?

Sulfomac 750 WG is registered for use in commercial and industrial areas, rights of way (including roadsides, rail lines and utility lines), and Eucalyptus and Corymbia plantations. It can also be used in non-crop and industrial situations such as firebreak areas. Always follow the Industrial use recommendations on the product label.

How should I apply Sulfomac 750 WG?

Sulfomac 750 WG may be applied pre-emergence or post-emergence to weeds. Best results are obtained when application is made before or during early stages of weed growth. Only Ground Boom and Handgun/Knapsack application methods are recommended. For specific application instructions, mixing ratios and safety directions, refer to the registered product label.

Can I mix Sulfomac with other products?

Sulfomac 750 WG can be mixed with Glyphosate herbicides when spraying established weeds to achieve superior knockdown and extended residual weed control. It is also compatible with other residual herbicides to broaden the range of species controlled and extend control of hard-to-kill weeds. Always consult the product label for compatibility information and mixing instructions.

What conditions affect how well Sulfomac works?

Soil moisture is necessary to activate the product's uptake through plant roots and foliage. If sprayed onto dry soils or soils under drought stress, effectiveness will be reduced. Under saturated soil conditions or during exceptionally heavy rainfall, residual herbicides may wash to non-target areas, so care should be taken to avoid application in areas where movement could cause off-target damage. Always follow label instructions for safe use.
