Second-generation anticoagulant bait — APVMA suspension conditions apply from 24 March 2026: use only in a tamper-resistant bait station (indoors only for home use), treat for up to 35 days per infestation, and search for and dispose of dead rodents. Commercial and farm use requires tamper- and weather-resistant stations secured in place. Unsure which bait you need? See our guide: Rat and Mouse Bait, Traps or Bait Stations — Which One Do You Need?

Tomcat II (red) is a fast-acting, single-feed block bait containing the anticoagulant brodifacoum — the strongest single-feed anticoagulant active on the market, so less bait is needed (a lethal dose is only 17 mg). It controls rats and mice including those resistant to other anticoagulants, in and around homes, agricultural, commercial and industrial buildings, under the current conditions above.

Place the blocks in a bait station and observe bait take; replace blocks more than 50% eaten; maintain supply until bait is no longer taken, and replace uneaten blocks monthly where continuous control is required. The cog-shaped block cannot be rolled away and has a centre hole so it can be secured to the station rod — keeping bait fresh, dry and away from non-target species.

Program tips: anticipate the problem rather than reacting to it; expose all rodents to the bait at the same time and remove competing food where possible; replenish generously; manage reinvasion with buffer zones. Follow label directions — this improves results and minimises risk to non-target animals.

Always read and follow the current registered product label. Browse the full rodent control range — including tamper-resistant bait stations and non-toxic traps.

Chemical Schedule: S6

For use on: Rats, mice

Host: Agricultural buildings and facilities. Target: Rats, Mice
Place Tomcat II Blox in tamper-resistant bait stations in areas where rodent activity is evident, such as along walls, in corners, and near entry points. Position bait stations away from livestock feed, water troughs, and areas accessible to pets and wildlife. Check and replenish bait stations every 3-7 days, removing any uneaten bait and dead rodents. Continue treatment until rodent activity ceases, typically requiring 7-14 days of baiting. Tips: Always wear gloves when handling bait and wash hands thoroughly after use. Keep detailed records of bait station placement, dates, and consumption for farm WHS compliance and to monitor treatment effectiveness. Dispose of dead rodents promptly in sealed bags to prevent secondary poisoning in raptors, native wildlife, and pets. Common Questions

What is Tomcat II Blox used for?

Tomcat II Blox Red Bait is for the control of rats and mice, including those resistant to other anticoagulants, in and around domestic, commercial, public services and industrial buildings.

What makes Tomcat II different from other rat baits?

Tomcat II contains a single-feeding anticoagulant active and is highly compressed, holding up well in adverse or moist conditions. The cog-shaped blox design allows them to be easily nailed down to prevent rodents rolling or burying them away from the baiting site. It's also effective against warfarin-resistant rodents.

How do I use Tomcat II Blox?

Place the blox in rat or mouse bait stations. Replace any bait that becomes more than 50% eaten to minimise removal from stations. Maintain a supply until the bait is no longer being consumed. For continuous control, replace uneaten blocks at monthly intervals to keep them fresh. Always follow the label directions for best results and to minimise risk to non-target animals.

Is there an SDS or safety information I should read?

Yes. Before using Tomcat II Blox, read and follow the registered product label and Safety Data Sheet (SDS). These contain important safety directions, storage information and directions for use. You can request these from TGRM on (07) 5482 1692 or visit 55 Tozer St, Gympie.

Should I use bait stations?

Yes, bait stations are recommended. They help keep the Tomcat II Blox fresh and dry, and prevent access by non-target species, which is important for safety. The blox can also be nailed down within stations to stop rodents removing them.
