Host: Horses. Target: Small strongyles (cyathostomins) including BZ-resistant strains, large strongyles (Strongylus spp., Triodontophorus spp.), pinworms (Oxyuris equi), large roundworms (Parascaris equorum) including ML-resistant adult strains; aids in control of tapeworms (Anoplocephala perfoliata)
Administer the entire contents of the syringe orally by placing the paste at the back of the horse's mouth. Ensure accurate dosing by weighing your horse using a weight tape and selecting the appropriate dose marking on the syringe. Strategy-T (oxfendazole + pyrantel embonate) is dosed at 1 mL per 20 kg bodyweight — each plunger marking delivers 5 mL and treats 100 kg; one 35 mL syringe treats a horse up to 700 kg. It treats susceptible small strongyles (including BZ-resistant strains), large strongyles, pinworms and large roundworms (including ML-resistant Parascaris) and aids in the control of tapeworms. For best results, conduct a Faecal Egg Count (FEC) test before treatment to determine if worming is necessary. Tips: Always dose according to your horse's current body weight — underdosing is the primary cause of anthelmintic resistance. Rotate between different active ingredient classes (macrocyclic lactones, benzimidazoles, and pyrimidines) based on FEC results and your veterinarian's recommendations rather than following a fixed calendar schedule. Note that Strategy-T is not registered for encysted small redworm larvae or bots, and its tapeworm claim is 'aids in control' — use a praziquantel product where full tapeworm treatment is required. Use Strategy-T as a rotation wormer against mectin resistance; base treatment timing on faecal egg counts and veterinary advice rather than a fixed calendar, and always dose to accurate bodyweight.
