Ivermectin 0.8 g/L

Ausmectin Sheep Drench is a Broad spectrum oral antiparasitic solution for sheep for the treatment and control of ivermectin sensitive strains of internal roundworms.

Ausmectin Sheep Drench contains ivermectin, a member of the macrocyclic lactone class of chemicals, which has a unique mode of action.

It acts selectively in invertebrate nerve and muscle cells resulting in paralysis and death of the parasite.

Ivermectin has a long intrinsic half-life, which provides excellent residual protection against parasitic reinfestation for a varying period depending on the target parasite.

Ausmectin Sheep Drench Broad-spectrum has an efficacy against a wide range of ivermectin sensitive parasites:

Roundworms including Barbers pole worm (Haemonchus contortus),

Large stomach worm (Haemonchus placei),

Small brown stomach worm (Ostertagia circumcincta),

Stomach hair worm (Trichostrongylus axei),

Black scour worm (Trichostrongylus colubriformis) etc

Lungworm (Dictyocaulus filaria),

Itchmite (Psorergates ovis)

and all parasitic larval stages of nasal bot (Oestrus ovis)

Active Ingredient: Ivermectin 0.8 g/L

Ausmectin Sheep Drench is a ready-to-use oral solution of ivermectin (0.8 g/L) for the treatment and control of ivermectin-sensitive strains of internal roundworms (including benzimidazole-, levamisole- and morantel-resistant strains), nasal bot and itch mite of sheep.

Administer orally using any standard drenching equipment that delivers a consistent dose. The dose rate is 1 mL per 4 kg bodyweight. Weigh a representative sample of the mob and dose to the heaviest animal in each group; where there is a wide size range, draft into lines to avoid excessive overdosing. Use as part of a planned worm-control program and rotate drench groups to help manage resistance. Always read the current product label before use and observe the stated withholding periods.

Common Questions

What is Ausmectin Sheep Drench used for?

Ausmectin Sheep Drench is a broad-spectrum oral antiparasitic for sheep. It treats and controls internal roundworms and other parasites including barber's pole worm, stomach worms, lungworm, itchmite, and nasal bot larvae in sheep that are sensitive to ivermectin.

How does ivermectin work?

Ivermectin is a macrocyclic lactone that acts selectively on invertebrate nerve and muscle cells, causing paralysis and death of the parasite. It has a long intrinsic half-life, which means it provides lasting protection against parasitic reinfestation for varying periods depending on which parasite you're targeting.

What's the active ingredient and concentration?

Ausmectin Sheep Drench contains ivermectin at 0.8 g/L. For detailed information about the formulation and how to use it safely, always read the product label and the Safety Data Sheet (SDS).

Where do I find dosing and safety information?

All dosing rates, application instructions, withholding periods, and safety directions are detailed on the registered product label. You must read and follow the label before use. If you have questions about how to use Ausmectin Sheep Drench safely and effectively, speak to your veterinarian or agronomist, or contact TGRM on (07) 5482 1692 or visit 55 Tozer St, Gympie.

Should I be concerned about resistance?

Yes. Parasite resistance to antiparasitic chemicals is a real issue. Following the product label carefully—including dosing, timing, and rotation strategies—helps slow the development of resistance and keeps the product effective for your flock. Your vet or agronomist can advise on resistance-management best practice for your property.
