Tips for Best Results

  • Weigh animals accurately using scales — never guess body weight. Dosing to the heaviest animal in the group ensures all cattle receive an effective treatment dose and reduces the risk of underdosing.
  • As a Macrocyclic Lactone (ML), Ivomec Plus should be rotated with other drench classes (such as organophosphates or combination products with different modes of action) to slow the development of ML resistance in your herd. WormBoss recommends rotating drench families as part of a long-term resistance management strategy.
  • To preserve refugia — the proportion of the parasite population not exposed to treatment — avoid treating every animal on the same schedule unnecessarily. Leaving low-risk animals untreated where appropriate helps maintain a susceptible worm population on pasture, slowing the spread of resistance.
  • Store Ivomec Plus Injection as directed on the label, away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep a treatment record for each mob, including date, product used, dose given, and withholding period — this is good practice and may be required under quality assurance programs.

Common Questions

What parasites does IVOMEC PLUS INJECTION control?

IVOMEC PLUS INJECTION controls a broad range of internal and external parasites in cattle. Internally, it treats gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms, eyeworms and adult liver fluke. Externally, it controls sucking lice and cattle tick, and aids in the control of biting lice and mites. Always read the product label for complete information on registered uses and activity periods.

Can I use this on lactating dairy cattle?

Yes, IVOMEC PLUS INJECTION has a nil milk withhold, which means it can be used on lactating dairy cattle. This gives dairy farmers flexibility to treat their animals at the optimal time. However, always check the product label and consult your veterinarian before treatment.

Is IVOMEC PLUS INJECTION a good option for drench rotation?

Yes. Because it works by injection rather than as a drench, IVOMEC PLUS INJECTION offers an excellent alternative to triclabendazole drenches, particularly for adult liver fluke control. Rotating between different drench families and modes of action helps slow the onset of parasite resistance. For a tailored rotation strategy suited to your herd, consult your veterinarian or agronomist.
