Tips for Best Results

  • Weigh animals accurately using scales — never estimate liveweight, as underdosing is the single biggest driver of drench resistance on-farm.
  • Macrocyclic Lactones (ML) such as ivermectin are one of the major drench classes available for cattle. To slow the development of ML resistance, rotate between drench families (e.g., ML, benzimidazole, levamisole, flukicide combinations) on a strategic basis rather than using the same class repeatedly.
  • Ivomec Plus offers a valuable rotation option away from triclabendazole-based flukicides for adult liver fluke control — an important resistance management strategy where triclabendazole has been used heavily.
  • Following WormBoss principles, avoid treating every animal at every opportunity. Leave a proportion of untreated animals (refugia) on pasture where practical to maintain a susceptible worm population and slow the spread of resistance genes.
  • Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight. Keep the container tightly sealed between uses.
  • Keep accurate treatment records including date, animal ID or mob, liveweight, product batch number, dose administered, and withholding period — this is best practice and may be required under your Quality Assurance program.
