Cattle: Gastrointestinal roundworms, adult and immature: Ostertagia ostertagi (including third and fourth stage larvae and inhibited immatures), O. lyrata, Haemonchus placei, Trichostrongylus axei (including third and fourth stage larvae), T. colubriformis, Cooperia spp. (including third and fourth stage larvae), Bunostomum phlebotomum (including third and fourth stage larvae), Oesophagostomum radiatum (including third and fourth stage larvae) and adults of Nematodirus spathiger, Nematodirus helvetianus, Strongyloides papillosus, Toxocara vitulorum and Trichuris spp. Adult liver fluke: Fasciola hepatica. Lungworm: adult and immature Dictyocaulus viviparus (including inhibited stages). Eyeworms: adult Thelazia spp. Sucking lice: Linognathus vituli, Haematopinus eurysternus and Solenopotes capillatus. Does not provide full control of the cattle biting louse, Bovicola (Damalinia) bovis. Screw worm fly: parasitic larval stages of Chrysomyia bezziana (not reported in Australia but present in Papua-New Guinea). Mites: Sarcoptes scabiei var. bovis. Cattle tick: Boophilus microplus (including organophosphate, synthetic pyrethroid and amidine resistant strains). When used as directed for control of internal parasites, concurrently aids in control of mites: Chorioptes bovis. (APVMA 45359)

For the treatment and control of ivermectin and clorsulon sensitive strains of internal and external parasites of cattle, including adult liver flukes. Read package insert before using this product. The recommended dose is 1 mL IVOMEC Plus (ivermectin plus clorsulon) Injection for Cattle per 50 kg liveweight (equivalent to 200 micrograms ivermectin and 2 mg clorsulon per kg liveweight) by subcutaneous injection. This product is not to be used intravenously or intramuscularly. Dose table (1000 mL pack): Up to 100 kg 2 mL (500 cattle per 1000 mL pack); 101-150 kg 3 mL (333 cattle per 1000 mL pack); 151-200 kg 4 mL (250 cattle per 1000 mL pack); 201-250 kg 5 mL (200 cattle per 1000 mL pack); 251-300 kg 6 mL (166 cattle per 1000 mL pack); 301-350 kg 7 mL (142 cattle per 1000 mL pack); 351-400 kg 8 mL (125 cattle per 1000 mL pack); 401-450 kg 9 mL (111 cattle per 1000 mL pack); 451-500 kg 10 mL (100 cattle per 1000 mL pack); 501-550 kg 11 mL (90 cattle per 1000 mL pack); 551-600 kg 12 mL (83 cattle per 1000 mL pack); 601-650 kg 13 mL (76 cattle per 1000 mL pack). Heavier animals (for example, mature bulls) should receive an additional 1 mL for each 50 kg over 650 kg. A representative sample of cattle should be weighed before treatment either with scales or with a weighband. Where there is a large variation in size within the group, draft into 2 or more lines based on bodyweight, to avoid excessive overdosing. Dose the mob according to the heaviest animal by liveweight in each group (cows, bulls, calves, heifers, etc). Do not underdose. Injection site: Inject under loose skin in the area indicated in the illustration. This product must be injected only under the skin. If possible inject high on the neck, behind the ear. Injection should be made only under loose skin in an area away from the more valuable carcase muscle. Loose skin on the neck in front of the shoulder is also a suitable site. Transitory discomfort has been observed in some cattle following subcutaneous administration. Soft-tissue swelling at the injection site has also been observed. These reactions have disappeared without treatment. Divide doses greater than 10 mL between two injection sites to reduce occasional discomfort or site reaction. Different injection sites should be used for other parenteral products. When the temperature of the product is below 5°C, difficulty in administration may be encountered due to increased viscosity. Warming the product and injection equipment to about 15°C will greatly increase the ease with which the product can be injected. Caution - avoid carcase damage: Sterilise all injection apparatus by boiling before use (plastic disposable syringes should not be boiled). Avoid use of strong disinfectants on apparatus. Maintain cleanliness at all times. Keep needles sharp and clean; replace frequently. Avoid injection of animals during wet weather or under dusty conditions. Sterile draw-off assembly (automatic injection equipment): use sterile equipment; connect open end of tube firmly to injector; remove cap from bottle and disinfect rubber stopper; hold bottle upright, remove protective cap and fully insert draw-off needle into center of rubber stopper; secure screw-on cap of draw-off assembly firmly to the bottle; gently prime injector to expel any air. After use, remove draw-off assembly and flush out entire apparatus with water before storing. Replace cap. If the connecting tube is used again, it should also be boiled for 15 to 20 minutes before use along with the injecting syringe and needles. Persistent activity: At the recommended dose rate, IVOMEC Plus effectively controls infection with Ostertagia spp. and Cooperia spp. acquired up to at least 7 days after treatment, and Dictyocaulus viviparus and Chrysomyia bezziana acquired up to at least 14 days after treatment. Cattle tick: maximum efficacy is reached 4-5 days after treatment. Engorged female ticks that drop from cattle in the initial days after treatment may lay viable eggs. This should be taken into account when planning a strategic tick control program. IVOMEC Plus Injection should be alternated with conventional dips or pour-ons when the program requires repeat treatments. Do not re-treat with IVOMEC Plus Injection in less than the meat withholding period of 28 days. Using IVOMEC Plus for best results: Treatments generally should be timed to use its antiparasitic properties to prevent the development or build up of parasitic infections. Resistance may develop to any drench. For detailed advice on a program of parasite control you should consult your veterinarian. Safety: Studies have demonstrated a wide margin of safety. Disposal: Dispose of empty containers and outer packaging by wrapping with paper and putting in garbage. Storage: STORE BELOW 30°C (Room Temperature). STORE BOTTLE IN CARTON TO PROTECT FROM LIGHT.
