- Weigh animals accurately — never estimate liveweight, as underdosing is the single biggest driver of treatment failure and drench resistance development.
- IO Tick Off Duo contains ivermectin, a macrocyclic lactone (ML). Resistance to ML actives has been documented in cattle tick and internal worm populations across Queensland. - To slow resistance development, consider leaving a proportion of low-risk animals untreated where practical (refugia management). Maintaining a population of parasites unexposed to treatment helps dilute resistant individuals in the gene pool — a principle supported by WormBoss and ParaBoss guidelines.
