Acatak Duostar is a pour-on formulation containing the tick development inhibitor fluazuron and the broad spectrum anti-parasitic, ivermectin.
Acatak Duostar is used for the strategic control of fluazuron-sensitive cattle tick (Rhipicephalus microplus) on beef cattle.
It also treats and controls ivermectin-sensitive internal and external parasites of beef cattle, including gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworm, sucking and biting lice, sarcoptic and chorioptic mites and buffalo fly.

It combines two modes of action for knockdown and residual control of fluazuron-susceptible ticks, including strains resistant to organophosphates, synthetic pyrethroids and amidines, as well as ivermectin-sensitive parasites.
Applied early in the season as part of a strategic control program, Acatak Duostar helps to minimise the build-up of the tick population on cattle and pastures.
Acatak Duostar has two proven modes of action to help mitigate the risk of resistance developing and prolong the life of all available chemistry.
Convenient pour-on formulation
Dosage and administration:
Apply the product in two bands, about 7cm wide, each side of the spine between the rump and the shoulders using a 30mL Acatak Duostar Manual Applicator or 30mL Genesis Power Doser fitted with a fan spray nozzle (55 psi operating pressure).
Dose to the heaviest animal in the mob.
DO NOT underdose.
Restraints:
DO NOT USE on cattle that are producing or may in the future produce milk for human consumption.
Contraindications:
This product is contraindicated for use on pregnant cows within six weeks of calving to avoid handling stress.

Dose rate & administration
Apply as two 7 cm wide bands, one on each side of the spine from shoulder to rump using an Elanco approved applicator only — no other applicator. For beef cattle after weaning only. Do not treat calves — suckling calves receive protection through their mother. Do not re-treat within 6 weeks. Maximum 3 treatments per annual tick season.

Tips for Best Results
- Weigh animals accurately using a weighbridge or calibrated scales — never estimate liveweight, as underdosing is a leading driver of resistance development.
- Macrocyclic Lactones (MLs) such as ivermectin are a critical drench class. To slow the development of ML resistance in your herd, avoid using MLs as the sole treatment at every round and consider rotating or combining with a different mode of action where appropriate and label-permitted.
- Maintain refugia — always leave a proportion of your herd untreated (where animal welfare and production allow) so that susceptible parasite populations remain on pasture. This dilutes resistant survivors and slows the spread of resistance, consistent with WormBoss principles of sustainable parasite management.
- Apply early in the tick season as part of a strategic control program to reduce the build-up of tick populations on cattle and pasture before numbers peak.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children. Keep the container tightly sealed when not in use.
- Keep accurate treatment records including date, animal ID or mob details, product used, dose applied, and withholding period — good records are essential for resistance monitoring and compliance.
