iO Fenbender is a ready to use broad-spectrum oral worm drench for control of benzimidazole sensitive mature and immature roundworms and lungworm in cattle, and for the control of large strongyles, small strongyles, ascarids and pinworms in horses.
iO Fenbender 100 contains Fenbendazole, a member of the benimidazole family of drenches.
It is effective in cattle and horses against benzimidazole sensitive strains of the following internal parasites:
Cattle:
Barber's pole worm (Haemonchus placei)
Small brown stomach worm (Ostertagia spp.)
Small hair worm (Trichostrongylus spp.)
Nodule worm (Oesophagostomum radiatum)
Thin necked intestinal worm (Nematodirus spp.)
Small intestinal worm (Cooperia spp.)
Lungworm (Dictyocaulus viviparus)
Whipworm ( Trichuris spp. Capillaria spp.)
Horses:
Large strongyles (S. vulgaris, S. edentatus, S.equinus)

Fenbender Dosage and Usage:
iO Fenbender 100 can be administered orally through standard accurate drenching equipment.
Clean equipment thoroughly before and after use.
Shake well before use.
Cattle:
3.75 mL/50 kg bodyweight (7.5 mg Fenbendazole per kg bodyweight)
Horses:
1 mL/10 kg bodyweight (10 mg Fenbendazole per kg bodyweight).
For the control of Strongyloides westeri in foals:
5 mL/10 kg bodyweight (50 mg Fenbendazole per kg bodyweight).
Withholding Periods:
Meat (Horses):
DO NOT USE less than twenty eight (28) days before slaughter for human consumption.
Meat (Cattle):
DO NOT USE less than fourteen (14) days before slaughter for human consumption.
Milk:
Zero (0) Days.

A representative sample of animals should be weighed before treatment either with scales or a weighband. Dose rate to be based on heaviest cattle in each group. Do not underdose. Where there is a large variation in size within the group, draft into two or more lines based on bodyweight to avoid excessive overdosing.
Horses
Dose Rate: 10 mg/kg Fenbendazole or 5 mL per 50 kg bodyweight
For control of Strongyloides westeri in foals: 50 mg/kg or 5 mL/10 kg bodyweight
May be administered by nasal tube, drenching gun or dosage syringe.
Check accuracy of drenching gun before and during use. Rinse drenching guns after use.

Tips for Best Results
- Weigh accurately, every time. Use a weigh scale or well-calibrated crush scale — never guess liveweight. Underdosing accelerates resistance and reduces efficacy, while overdosing wastes product and money.
- Understand BZ resistance risks. Fenbendazole is a Benzimidazole (BZ / white drench) — the drench class with the longest history of use in Australia and the one most commonly associated with resistance in cattle worm populations. Before using, consider conducting a DrenchCheck or DrenchTest (faecal egg count reduction test) to confirm BZ drenches are still effective on your property. Rotate drench classes and consider combination drenches where resistance is a concern.
- Leave refugia — don't drench every animal every time. WormBoss principles highlight that maintaining a proportion of untreated animals (refugia) on pasture helps dilute resistant worm populations with susceptible ones, slowing the development of resistance across your herd or mob. Work with your local vet or advisor to build a refugia-based program suited to your Queensland conditions.
