iO Fenbender is a ready to use broad-spectrum oral worm drench for control of benzimidazole sensitive mature and immature roundworms and lungworm in cattle, and for the control of large strongyles, small strongyles, ascarids and pinworms in horses.
iO Fenbender 100 contains Fenbendazole, a member of the benimidazole family of drenches.
It is effective in cattle and horses against benzimidazole sensitive strains of the following internal parasites:
Cattle:
Barber's pole worm (Haemonchus placei)
Small brown stomach worm (Ostertagia spp.)
Small hair worm (Trichostrongylus spp.)
Nodule worm (Oesophagostomum radiatum)
Thin necked intestinal worm (Nematodirus spp.)
Small intestinal worm (Cooperia spp.)
Lungworm (Dictyocaulus viviparus)
Whipworm ( Trichuris spp. Capillaria spp.)
Horses:
Large strongyles (S. vulgaris, S. edentatus, S.equinus)

Fenbender Dosage and Usage:
iO Fenbender 100 can be administered orally through standard accurate drenching equipment.
Clean equipment thoroughly before and after use.
Shake well before use.
Cattle:
3.75 mL/50 kg bodyweight (7.5 mg Fenbendazole per kg bodyweight)
Horses:
1 mL/10 kg bodyweight (10 mg Fenbendazole per kg bodyweight).
For the control of Strongyloides westeri in foals:
5 mL/10 kg bodyweight (50 mg Fenbendazole per kg bodyweight).
Withholding Periods:
Meat (Horses):
DO NOT USE less than twenty eight (28) days before slaughter for human consumption.
Meat (Cattle):
DO NOT USE less than fourteen (14) days before slaughter for human consumption.
Milk:

For control of Strongyloides westeri in foals: 50 mg/kg or 5 mL/10 kg bodyweight
May be administered by nasal tube, drenching gun or dosage syringe.
Administration Tips
- A representative sample of animals should be weighed before treatment using scales or a weighband
- Dose rate to be based on heaviest cattle in each group (bulls, cows, steers, calves etc.)
- Do not underdose
- Where there is large variation in size within the group, draft into two or more lines based on bodyweight to avoid excessive overdosing
- Check accuracy of drenching gun before and during use
- Rinse drenching guns after use

Tips for Best Results
- Weigh accurately, every time. Use a weigh scale or calibrated weigh band — never estimate liveweight. Dosing to the heaviest animal in the group ensures full coverage and avoids the underdosing that drives resistance.
- Benzimidazole (BZ) resistance is widespread in Australia. Fenbendazole belongs to the white drench (BZ) class, and resistance is common in cattle worm populations, particularly Cooperia and Ostertagia. Before relying on a BZ drench, consider conducting a DrenchCheck or DrenchTest (faecal egg count reduction test) to confirm it is still effective on your property. - Rotate drench classes strategically, not just routinely. WormBoss recommends rotating between drench classes based on resistance test results, not on a fixed calendar schedule. Combining drench classes (where resistance status allows) is a more effective strategy than single-active rotation alone. Use Io Fenbender 100 as part of a planned program, not as a standalone, year-round solution.
- Maintain refugia. Not every animal in the mob needs to be drenched every time. Leaving a proportion of low-risk, healthy animals undrenched preserves a population of worms that have not been exposed to drenches — this 'refugia' population dilutes resistant genetics on pasture and slows the development of resistance across your herd or horse population.
- Store correctly and keep records. Store below 30°C, out of direct sunlight, and away from children and animals. Record the date of treatment, animals treated, bodyweights, batch number, and withholding period expiry for each drenching event — this is good practice and supports your livestock production declarations (LPAs).
