405mm Total Length from Thread to Thread

Install the float valve into the 25mm trough wall opening, securing the long arm assembly so the ball float moves freely without obstruction. Connect your water supply line to the inlet and adjust the float arm so the ball sits at your desired water level—typically 50-75mm from the trough rim. Turn on the water supply gradually and check for leaks around the valve body. Once set, the valve will automatically maintain your chosen level by opening and closing as cattle drink. Tips: Check your supply pressure matches the valve's rating (most rural systems run 100-350kPa)—undersized valves will struggle to keep up during peak drinking periods, especially post-milking when cattle can shift 40L per session. If running off a dam or tank with sediment, fit a strainer on the supply line to stop debris fouling the valve seat. Test the float arm movement monthly to ensure it's not stuck or corroded.
