Cocky Ball Floats for stock troughs have fully clamped brass threaded inserts which eliminate any chance of thread stripping.

The combination of a metal threaded insert and a strong metal clamp provides the ultimate support when the float is fitted to the end of the arm and has the greatest load.

The threads in the Cocky Ball Floats won’t strip, so unlike other manufacturers, do not require a replaceable plastic threaded cap.

Each float is clearly marked with its size 150mm (6”), 200mm (8”), 250mm (10”) and the
largest in our range the 300mm (12”).

All Cocky Floats come in Safety Orange for easy checking even from a distance.

The floats all have brass inserts with standard M10 threads.

Directions for Use This 150mm (6") heavy duty plastic ball float features a fully clamped 10mm brass threaded insert for a secure, strip-resistant connection. It is designed to fit Cocky valve float arms on stock troughs and similar water systems. 1. Thread the 10mm brass insert onto the end of your float arm by hand until snug, then tighten firmly. The brass insert and metal clamp are designed to handle the load at the end of the arm without stripping. 2. Fit the float arm and valve assembly into your trough or tank inlet according to the valve manufacturer's specifications. 3. Adjust the float arm angle so the valve shuts off at your desired water level, leaving adequate clearance below the rim to prevent overflow. 4. Turn on the water supply and observe the float rising as the trough fills. Confirm the valve closes cleanly when the float reaches the set level. 5. Check all connection points for leaks and re-tighten if necessary. The Safety Orange colour makes it easy to spot the float from a distance and do a quick visual check without walking up to each trough. Tips: If your system is fed from a dam or bore, fit a strainer upstream of the valve to keep debris out of the valve seat — grit and sediment are the most common cause of float valves weeping or failing to shut off properly. Inspect floats and valves regularly during hot weather when stock are drinking hard and the system is under constant demand.
