FLOAT VALVE SHORT ARM 25MM PLASTIC TROUGH WALL NO FLOAT NORMA at a glance

Series 220P Plastic High/Low Plunger Activated Valve is used for small to medium sized troughs.

Due to the compact nature of the valve this is ideally suited to troughs with confined inlet compartments.

This valve has the added advantage of a barbed outlet for connection to a hose or silencer tube.

Features:

Float sizes 115mm or 150mm

Supplied with high pressure seat fitted (up to 1400 kPa [200psi] working pressure)

With seat removed, the valve is suitable for low to medium pressure (up to 500 kPa [70psi] working pressure)

Inserted seat to cover different inlet pressures

Maximum temperature: 60°C

Install the float valve into the trough wall opening, ensuring the short arm is positioned horizontally so the ball float moves freely up and down. Connect your water supply line to the inlet and adjust the arm until water reaches your desired level — the float will shut off supply once that level is reached. Check that the valve seats properly and doesn't leak before leaving it unattended. Test the system under normal pressure (100-350kPa for most rural setups) to confirm water cuts off cleanly. Tips: These cocky valves are Queensland standard for poly tanks and troughs, so replacement parts are easy to source locally. If you're running a dam-fed system, fit a strainer basket upstream to stop debris fouling the valve seat. Keep an eye on water level during peak drinking times — if cattle can't keep up with demand, you may need a larger bore valve or second trough.

Common Questions

The valve comes supplied with a high pressure seat fitted, rated up to 1400 kPa (200psi) working pressure. If you remove the seat, it's suitable for low to medium pressure applications up to 500 kPa (70psi). The inserted seat can be swapped to suit your inlet pressure.

What float sizes are available?

This valve is supplied with float sizes of 115mm or 150mm.

Can I connect a hose to the outlet?

Yes. The valve has a barbed outlet designed for connection to a hose or silencer tube.
