Dose rate & administration — cattle
1 mL per 25 kg by subcutaneous (SC) injection, high behind the ear. 16 gauge, 12 mm needle. For cattle over 250 kg split the dose — no more than 10 mL per site, sites one hand’s breadth apart.

1 mL per 25 kg by SC injection on the side of the neck, 5 cm from the base of the ear. 18 gauge, 6 mm needle. Inject at 45° in short-wool sheep, at 90° in long-wool sheep. Minimum 15 kg.

- Weigh animals accurately before every treatment — never estimate liveweight. Underdosing is a leading driver of drench resistance, and with an injectable product the dose you draw up is the dose they get.
- Dectomax V combines a Macrocyclic Lactone (ML) with a Levamisole (LV) active — a deliberate dual-class combination designed to help break resistance cycles. - Practice refugia management: avoid treating every animal on the property at once where practical. Leaving a proportion of low-risk, healthy animals untreated helps maintain a population of worms that have not been exposed to treatment, diluting any resistant survivors and slowing the spread of resistance genes through the worm population — a core WormBoss principle.
