Common Questions
What does Dectomax V treat?
The label claims treatment and control of GI worms, cattle tick and sucking lice in cattle, and GI worms in sheep. In cattle this includes macrocyclic lactone resistant and levamisole resistant worm strains as listed on the label; tick claims are for doramectin sensitive strains of cattle tick. In sheep the claim is for macrocyclic lactone sensitive GI worms.
What is the dose rate?
1 mL / 25 kg bodyweight by subcutaneous injection, for both cattle and sheep. For cattle over 250 kg, the dose is divided so that not more than 10 mL is injected at one site. Refer to the dose tables on the registered label.
Can I use Dectomax V in lactating dairy cattle?
No. The label states: DO NOT USE in lactating cows or within 60 days of calving where milk may be used or processed for human consumption.
How soon can I re-treat animals?
The label states: DO NOT re-treat cattle for 28 days or sheep for 33 days after last treatment.
