CroPro Pounce Insecticide is a synthetic pyrethroid concentrate for effectively controlling certain caterpillar pests of cereals, field peas, linseed, ornamentals, sugarcane, tobacco and vegetables.
It provides highly effective and cost-efficient control with a short withholding period so that spraying can be carried out within a few days of harvest.

CroPro Pounce Insecticide (500 g/L permethrin 40:60, Group 3A synthetic pyrethroid, emulsifiable concentrate) is a contact and residual insecticide for caterpillar and certain aphid pests of cereals, field peas, green peas and beans, linseed, ornamentals, sugarcane, tobacco and vegetables. Always read the product label in full before use; rates, water volumes and withholding periods vary with crop and pest and must never be exceeded.
Label rates are crop-specific, for example: cereals (armyworms) 100–200 mL/ha; brassica vegetables 100 mL/ha in 600–1000 L water; tomatoes and potatoes 100–200 mL/ha; field peas and green peas 150–250 mL/ha; lettuce 10–20 mL/100 L; celery 200 mL/ha or 50 mL/100 L; mustard (cutworms) 25 mL/ha. Apply as a foliar spray with thorough coverage of the crop; Pounce can be used as a protective treatment at regular intervals or as a knockdown treatment against existing larvae.
Withholding periods are short (1–3 days for most vegetables and cereals, 7 days linseed, 14 days mustard) – check the label for your crop. Avoid spraying in extreme heat or when bees are foraging; this product is toxic to bees and aquatic life. This is a Schedule 6 poison – wear the PPE specified on the label and store in a cool, dry, locked place away from children, food and stockfeed.

- Coverage is critical: Pounce is a contact and residual insecticide – thorough spray coverage of the crop, including the underside of leaves and into the crop canopy, is essential for adequate control.
- Time sprays to pest stage: Target small, young larvae; large caterpillars are harder to kill. Monitor crops regularly and treat when pest numbers reach threshold.
- Resistance management: Permethrin is a Group 3A synthetic pyrethroid. Helicoverpa armigera and diamondback moth populations in Queensland carry pyrethroid resistance – rotate with insecticides from different mode-of-action groups and follow the relevant resistance management strategy.
- Protect bees and waterways: Do not spray when bees are foraging on flowering crops or weeds, and avoid drift or run-off into dams, streams and drains.
