WILD MAY FRUIT FLY ATTRACTANT 1LT RYSET GPM126 at a glance
Suitable for
Fruit fly

The Wild May Attractant may be used as a monitoring tool in conjunction with routine spray programmes.

It may also be used to detect the onset of the fruit fly season and to reduce the local fruit fly pressure.

The product may also be integrated into fruit fly control programmes on properties committed to pesticide-free farming techniques.

This product will attract and kill male flies when used as directed in a "wet" trap but is not designed to be effective when applied to a cotton wick as no insecticide is present.

Directions:

Pour attractant into base of trap to a minimum depth of 20mm

Place trap upwind in shaded branch on the eastern side of the tree approximately 1.2 metres off the ground.

Place four traps per hectare equally spaced around areas where fruit flies are to be monitored/controlled.

Recharge traps when liquid attractant evaporates to a depth of 15mm.

When recharging the traps it is advisable to remove dead flies from the trap liquid by an effective means such as pouring the liquid through a sieve or using a small spoon.

See product label for the complete list of instructions.

How do I set up the traps?

Pour the attractant into the base of your trap to the depth specified on the product label. Place traps upwind in a shaded branch on the eastern side of the tree at the height recommended. Will this work on a cotton wick?

No. This product is designed to be effective only when used as a wet trap. It contains no insecticide and is not suitable for application to a cotton wick.
