WILD MAY FRUIT FLY ATTRACTANT 5LT RYSET 403289 at a glance
Suitable for
Fruit Fly

The Wild May Attractant may be used as a monitoring tool in conjunction with routine spray programmes.

It may also be used to detect the onset of the fruit fly season and to reduce the local fruit fly pressure.

The product may also be integrated into fruit fly control programmes on properties committed to pesticide-free farming techniques.

This product will attract and kill male flies when used as directed in a "wet" trap but is not designed to be effective when applied to a cotton wick as no insecticide is present.

Directions:

Pour attractant into base of trap to a minimum depth of 20mm

Place trap upwind in shaded branch on the eastern side of the tree approximately 1.2 metres off the ground.

Place four traps per hectare equally spaced around areas where fruit flies are to be monitored/controlled.

Recharge traps when liquid attractant evaporates to a depth of 15mm.

When recharging the traps it is advisable to remove dead flies from the trap liquid by an effective means such as pouring the liquid through a sieve or using a small spoon.

See product label for the complete list of instructions.

Active Constituent:
Maximum 0.5g/L 4-(p-hydroxyphenyl)-2-butanone and minimum 0.25g/L 4-(p-hydroxyphenyl)-2-butanone acetate.

Common Questions

What is Wild May Fruit Fly Attractant used for?

Wild May is designed to monitor fruit fly activity, detect the start of the fruit fly season, and reduce local fruit fly pressure. It can also be integrated into fruit fly control programmes on pesticide-free farms. The attractant works by drawing in and killing male flies when used in a wet trap.

How do I use this product?

Wild May is poured into the base of a trap and placed in shaded branches, positioned upwind to catch fruit flies. The product label contains complete directions for placement, trap spacing, and maintenance. Always refer to the registered label for full instructions before use.

Can I use this attractant on a cotton wick?

No. Wild May is designed to work as a "wet" trap only. Because the product contains no insecticide, it is not effective when applied to a cotton wick and should only be used by pouring it into the base of a trap as directed.

Where should I find safety and application information?

Always read the product label and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use. These documents contain critical safety directions, mixing instructions, and application details.
