Websters 5 in 1 B12 Vaccine for cattle and sheep is for the prevention of pulpy kidney (Cl. perfringens type D), black disease (Cl. novyi type B), malignant oedema (Cl. septicum ), tetanus (Cl. tetani ) and blackleg (Cl. chauvoei ) in cattle and sheep, together with vitamin B12 supplement.

Overcoming Vitamin B12 deficiency
An animal affected by a vitamin B12 deficiency may show clinical signs such as decreased appetite, reduced weight gain, loss of bodyweight, reduced wool growth, reduced milk production, lethargy and infertility.
Supplementation of vitamin B12 in animals with vitamin B12 deficiency can increase appetite and feed conversion efficiency resulting in improved production.
Dosage & Directions for use:
Cattle:
4mL dose subcutaneous injection (high on the neck behind the ear)
Cattle not previously vaccinated - Initial dose, followed by a second dose 4 to 6 weeks later.
Annual booster dose will maintain a high level of immunity.
Young cattle - First dose given at 4 to 6 months of age.
Bulls - Annual booster dose prior to joining.
Sheep:
2mL dose by subcutaneous injection (high on the neck behind the ear)
Lambs - Dose at marking followed by a second 2mL dose 4 to 6 weeks later (e.g. weaning).
Annual booster dose will maintain a high level of immunity.
Ewes (fully vaccinated as lambs) - Annual booster dose. Administer 3 weeks prior to lambing if possible.
Slaughter lambs from vaccinated ewes - Dose at marking.
Unvaccinated rams, ewes and wethers - All unvaccinated animals introduced onto a property should be vaccinated, followed by a second dose 4 to 6 week later.
Rams - Annual booster dose given prior to joining if possible.

It protects against five major clostridial diseases: pulpy kidney (Cl. perfringens type D), black disease (Cl. novyi type B), malignant oedema (Cl. septicum), tetanus (Cl. tetani) and blackleg (Cl. chauvoei). As Australia's only 5 in 1 vaccine to include a vitamin B12 supplement, it also addresses cobalt/B12 deficiency in a single injection — a real advantage in areas like parts of South-East Queensland where pasture cobalt levels can be borderline.
Administration: Give by subcutaneous injection, high on the neck behind the ear. Use clean needles and syringes and observe standard hygiene practices to avoid injection site reactions or introduced infection.
Cattle — 4 mL per dose: Previously unvaccinated animals require an initial dose followed by a second dose 4–6 weeks later. Young cattle should receive their first dose at 4–6 months of age. Bulls should receive an annual booster prior to joining. All cattle require an annual booster to maintain immunity.
Sheep — 2 mL per dose: Lambs should be dosed at marking, with a second dose 4–6 weeks later (typically at weaning). Ewes that were fully vaccinated as lambs require an annual booster — ideally administered 3 weeks prior to lambing to maximise passive immunity transfer to lambs. Key precautions: Vaccinate healthy animals only. Do not vaccinate animals that are stressed, unwell or within 3 weeks of weaning where avoidable. Refrigerate between 2–8°C and never freeze. Tips for Best Results
- Cold chain is critical — store Websters 5 in 1 + B12 at 2–8°C at all times. Never freeze the vaccine, and keep it out of direct sunlight during use. A well-insulated esky with ice bricks is your best mate at the yards.
- Prime then boost — a single injection alone will not give full protection. For previously unvaccinated animals, the second dose 4–6 weeks after the first is what builds solid immunity. Don't skip it.
- Time ewes' boosters strategically — vaccinating ewes approximately 3 weeks before lambing allows them to pass strong colostral antibodies to lambs, giving newborns a head start against pulpy kidney and tetanus in their most vulnerable period.
- Vitamin B12 deficiency can be subtle — animals on cobalt-deficient country may not show dramatic symptoms, but poor weight gain, reduced wool cut or lower fertility can all be signs.
