First-generation anticoagulant (coumatetralyl) — not affected by the March 2026 APVMA suspension of second-generation baits. Normal label conditions apply. Unsure which bait you need? See our guide: Rat and Mouse Bait, Traps or Bait Stations — Which One Do You Need?
Racumin Paste is a ready-to-use rodenticide bait paste for the control of rats and mice. It contains coumatetralyl (0.37 g/kg), a first-generation anticoagulant that works through a multi-feed system — a mode of action that lowers (but does not remove) the risk of secondary poisoning to pets or wildlife that scavenge dead rodents.
Using the multi-feed approach, Racumin kills in a similar timeframe to a single-feed bait (3–8 days) without the risk of bait shyness. The paste combines vegetable fats and carbohydrates in a form highly attractive to rats and mice, and contains Bitrex, a human taste deterrent.
Directions (refer to the label for all product information): the soft blocks inside the paper sachets are ready to use — do not open the sachets. Place sachets in areas of known rodent activity; for rats use a minimum of 3 × 10 g sachets (30 g) per placement; do not exceed 3 m between baits for mice or 9 m for rats.
Baiting strategy: remove alternative food sources as far as practicable; if baits are eaten quickly, increase the number of baits; bait for at least 2 weeks and keep replenishing until no more bait is taken; remove and destroy untaken bait at the end of the program. Use caution in or near piggeries.
Label restraints include: do not place baits in the open unless in bait stations; do not graze or feed livestock on treated areas while bait is present; do not place baits anywhere accessible to children, livestock or pets; do not remove bait from the sachet; do not allow bait to contaminate pig food.

Common Questions
What is Racumin Paste used for?
Racumin Paste is a ready-to-use rodenticide bait for the control of rats and mice. It comes in convenient sachets that are applied directly to areas of known rodent activity.
Is it safe to use around pets and wildlife?
Racumin uses a multi-feed system with Coumatetralyl, a first generation anticoagulant designed to decrease the risk of secondary poisoning to pets or wildlife that may scavenge on treated rodents. However, bait sachets must never be placed where they are accessible to children, livestock or domestic pets, and caution is required when using this product in or near piggeries. Always follow all safety directions on the product label.
Do I need to open the sachets?
No — the sachets are ready to use straight from the pack. Do NOT attempt to open the sachets. Simply place them whole in areas of known rodent activity, or use bait stations as required.
Where should I place the bait?
Place bait sachets in areas of known rodent activity. Bait must never be placed in the open unless it is inside a bait station. Always ensure baits are not accessible to children, livestock or domestic pets. For specific placement spacing and quantity requirements, refer to the product label.
What should I do after the rodent control program?
Remove and destroy any untaken bait once your rodent control program is complete. Do not allow bait to contaminate livestock feed or grazing areas. For full details on baiting strategy and duration, please refer to the product label or contact TGRM on (07) 5482 1692.
