Host: Forage sorghum (Dyna-Dan variety). Target: Seed-borne fungal diseases including Alternaria, Fusarium, and other soil-borne pathogens that affect germination and early seedling establishment.

Directions for Use Dyna-Dan Awaken Thiram is a treated forage sorghum seed. The Thiram seed treatment is pre-applied — refer to the registered product label for full chemical information, including any handling precautions and withholding periods. 1. Before sowing, conduct an independent soil test. Sorghum performs best on fertile soils with adequate potassium levels, particularly in acidic soils. Do not apply more than 110 kg/Ha of nitrogen. 2. Sow seed shallow into adequately moistened, well-prepared seedbeds. For marginal dryland conditions, sow at 5–10 kg/Ha. For favourable dryland or irrigated conditions, sow at 10–20 kg/Ha. Grazing & cutting heights — each figure below governs a DIFFERENT decision, so read each one by its purpose: 3. ENTRY HEIGHT (when it is safe to FIRST graze or cut): wait until plants reach at least 1 metre. At 1 metre the crop clears Queensland's safe-grazing thresholds for forage sorghum — Business Queensland advises delaying grazing until plants are more than 45 cm for short varieties or more than 75 cm for tall varieties — and it is past the height where prussic-acid (HCN) poisoning risk is greatest (below 60 cm). Do NOT introduce stock before the crop reaches this height. 4. ONGOING RANGE (an already-established stand): once the crop has been safely entered at about 1 metre, graze or cut it in the 60–120 cm range to maintain feed quality. Do not treat 60 cm as a signal to turn stock in for the first time — this range applies only to a stand that is already established and has already been safely grazed. 5. RESIDUAL HEIGHT (how far DOWN to graze or cut): do not graze or cut below 15 cm plant height. This 15 cm figure protects the plant's ability to regrow — it is NOT a safe entry or exposure height, and stock should never be introduced to a paddock at this height. Tips — prussic acid (HCN) safety: Forage sorghums can cause prussic acid (cyanide) poisoning. Risk is greatest when plants are under 60 cm, and in young, moisture-stressed or frosted crops. Do not graze hungry or stressed stock — introduce them with a full stomach. After frost or stress, wait until the crop has clearly recovered and regrown before grazing. Watch stock closely for the first hour and at least twice daily for the first few days, provide a sulphur-containing lick or molasses (sorghums are low in sulphur, which helps the liver detoxify cyanide), and test the crop for prussic acid and nitrate if in any doubt.
