General Instructions:
This product can be used for either pre- or post-emergence weed control depending on the crop and weeds to be controlled.
When the product is applied pre-emergence, susceptible weeds may emerge but growth will be retarded and weeds will either die or remain stunted and will not compete with the crop.
Adequate soil moisture is important for optimum activity.

A non-ionic surfactant, or an adjuvant as specified in the directions for use, must be added to Image 700 WG Herbicide for post-emergence weed control.

It also provides control of certain annual and perennial broadleaf weeds and grasses in non-crop situations, roadsides, industrial areas, and rights-of-way. Due to its soil-residual activity, it is particularly suited to total vegetation control or long-term suppression in non-agricultural zones. Image 700 WG is a water-dispersible granule herbicide containing imazapyr, an imidazolinone Group B herbicide. It can be applied as a foliar spray, cut stump treatment, basal bark application, or soil spot treatment depending on the target weed and situation. Mix the required amount of granules into clean water in the spray tank, agitating well to ensure full dispersion. For foliar applications, add a registered surfactant or wetting agent to improve uptake through the leaf surface, particularly on waxy or hairy-leaved weeds.
Foliar applications are most effective when weeds are actively growing and not under moisture or temperature stress. Apply when there is no rain forecast for at least one to two hours after application to allow adequate absorption. Avoid applying in strong winds to minimise off-target drift, and do not apply to waterlogged or drought-stressed plants as uptake will be significantly reduced. For woody weed control, cut stump and basal bark methods can be highly effective, particularly on regrowth and multi-stemmed scrub species.

Tips for Best Results
- Apply to actively growing weeds: Imazapyr works best when target plants are actively growing and not stressed by drought, frost, or waterlogging — good soil moisture and warm temperatures improve translocation throughout the plant.
- Respect the residual soil activity: Imazapyr can persist in the soil for many months or longer depending on soil type, rainfall, and temperature. Avoid use near desirable trees, pasture areas, or where replanting is planned without confirming withholding periods and replanting intervals on the label.
- Use a quality surfactant for foliar work: Adding a registered non-ionic surfactant at the label-recommended rate significantly improves foliar uptake, especially on thick-leaved or waxy woody weeds common in Queensland.
