How it works
Intervix® is absorbed through the leaves, green stems and roots of susceptible weeds and moved from the point of contact throughout the plant. Weeds will either die or will remain stunted and will not compete with the crop. Symptoms of kill may take one to two weeks to develop, with death occurring up to one month from treatment. Symptoms first appear at the growth points where young foliage becomes discoloured and distorted before dying.
Intervix is primarily a post-emergence product. Best results will be achieved when good contact and coverage of weeds occurs and weeds are actively growing.
Intervix also has some residual soil activity under good soil moisture conditions. Residual effects on weeds can be reduced when dry soil conditions follow application before the herbicide has moved to the root zone. Best results will be achieved when application is made to moist soil or if approximately 10 mm rain follows within several days of application.
Vigorous crop growth will assist in suppressing weeds not completely killed and those germinating later.

Refer to the registered label for weed control ratings by crop and rate.
Intervix (33 g/L imazamox + 15 g/L imazapyr, Group 2) is a post-emergence herbicide for use ONLY in Clearfield Plus wheat, Clearfield barley, Clearfield canola and imidazolinone-tolerant (Inzen/igrowth) sorghum and sunflower – it will kill conventional crops. Label rates: wheat and barley 375–750 mL/ha (3-leaf to first node); canola 300–750 mL/ha (2–6 leaf); sorghum and sunflower 750 mL–1 L/ha. Always add Hasten or Kwickin adjuvant at 0.5 L/100 L of spray volume. Apply with a boom sprayer to small, actively growing weeds with good coverage; best results on moist soil or when about 10 mm of rain follows within a few days. Grazing/stock-food withholding 4–5 weeks depending on crop; harvest withholding not required. Observe the plant-back periods for following crops (10 months for most crops, 22 months for non-Clearfield cereals, 34 months for maize/conventional sorghum). Very toxic to aquatic life – avoid drift and run-off. Refer to the registered label.

Tips for Best Results
- Clearfield crops only: Confirm the variety is Clearfield/imidazolinone-tolerant before spraying – conventional varieties will be killed.
- Always add the adjuvant: Hasten or Kwickin at 0.5 L/100 L is required for reliable weed control.
- Spray small weeds under good conditions: Actively growing weeds with adequate soil moisture give the best result; residual activity is reduced under dry conditions.
- Resistance management: Group 2 (ALS inhibitor) herbicides are at high risk of resistance – rotate modes of action across seasons and follow the Clearfield stewardship guidelines.
- Plant-back: Keep records and observe the label plant-back periods before sowing non-tolerant crops or pastures.
