K-Ethephon is a plant growth regulator containing 480g/L of the active ingredient Ethephon.
It is registered for the control of wintergrass (Poa annua) seedhead in Cool Season turf and Golf Green situations.
A plant growth regulator for bloom thinning, vigour control and return bloom enhancement in apples and ripening tomatoes, early apples and kiwifruit.
Also for the suppression of annual poa seedhead in turf.
Mixing:
K-Ethephon Growth Regulator mixes readily with water.
Accurately measure out the recommended quantity.
Add measured product to partly filled spray tank.
Agitate while adding remaining water to tank.
The addition of a nonionic wetter at label rates is recommended for all applications.
Note - Tank mixing with other chemicals than those listed in the direction for use is not recommended.
Application:
Ensure spray equipment is clean and well calibrated to give even coverage.
Flush equipment thoroughly with clean water before and after use.
The following rates are for dilute application to run-off.
Thorough wetting of all parts of target plants is required (unless otherwise stated).
Withholding Period:
Do not harvest apples, tomatoes and kiwifruit within 7 days of the last treatment.

Application
Mix the required amount of product with water in a partially filled tank and agitate. Handling
K-Ethephon is an acidic corrosive liquid. Do not mix with alkaline products (ethephon breaks down and loses activity in alkaline conditions) and use the mix as soon as it is prepared. Wear elbow-length PVC or nitrile gloves and eye protection, and avoid contact with skin and eyes.

Tips for Best Results
- Follow the label rate and timing: ethephon is very stage-dependent — applying at the wrong growth or ripening stage can give uneven results or crop damage.
- Keep the mix acidic: ethephon degrades and loses activity in alkaline water or tank mixes — don’t combine with alkaline products and spray as soon as mixed.
- Temperature drives ripening: ethylene release is temperature-dependent — for post-harvest ripening, hold produce within the recommended temperature range for even colour.
- Corrosive & Schedule 6: store locked and upright in the original container in a cool, well-ventilated area away from children and food; wear PVC/nitrile gloves and eye protection when handling.

Can I tank-mix it?
Keep the mix acidic — ethephon breaks down in alkaline water or alkaline tank mixes and loses activity. Do not combine with alkaline products, and spray as soon as it’s mixed. Check the label for compatible partners.
What safety gear do I need?
It’s a Schedule 6 corrosive acid — wear elbow-length PVC or nitrile gloves and chemical goggles or a faceshield, and avoid skin and eye contact. If in eyes, flush with water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention.
