K-Ethephon Growth Regulator 1L (Kendon) is a plant growth regulator containing 480 g/L ethephon, registered for crop ripening, thinning, loosening and harvest-aid uses in apples, grapes, citrus, macadamias, peaches, pineapples, sugarcane and tomatoes as detailed on the label. It releases ethylene in plant tissue to bring on uniform ripening and colour.
K-Ethephon is a Schedule 6 corrosive (acidic) liquid classified as dangerous goods (UN 3265, Class 8, PG III). Parcel couriers and Australia Post do not accept Class 8 corrosives, so it is available for local delivery or in-store Click & Collect only. Crops & Uses
A plant growth regulator (ethephon 480 g/L) registered for: advancing maturity, thinning and fruit removal in apples; colour development in table grapes and mechanical-harvest aid in wine grapes; thinning of mandarins and oranges; harvest aid in macadamias; advancing maturity in peaches; flower initiation and fruit ripening in pineapples; increasing early CCS in sugarcane; and accelerating ripening in tomatoes. Registered uses and crops are listed on the product label – always confirm your intended use is registered before applying.
K-Ethephon is a plant growth regulator (480 g/L ethephon) that releases ethylene in plant tissue. Rates and timing are crop- and purpose-specific on the registered label, for example: apples 50–100 mL/100 L to advance maturity 2–3 weeks before harvest, or 20–60 mL/100 L for thinning at full bloom (rate varies by variety); red table grapes 40–60 mL/100 L (Barlinka 20–30 mL/100 L) when 5–30% of berries are coloured, 2–4 weeks before expected harvest; macadamias 250 mL/100 L as a harvest aid (80–160 mL/100 L for H2); mandarins and oranges 40–60 mL/100 L for thinning; peaches 25 mL/100 L; pineapples at the label rates for flower initiation and fruit ripening; sugarcane 1.5 L/ha from the beginning of March to the end of April; tomatoes 1.8 L/ha in 440–880 L water when 5–30% of fruit is pink/red. Always read the registered label in full and apply at the stage specified – ethephon activity is highly stage- and temperature-dependent. Mix only the quantity required for immediate use in a partly filled tank with agitation; do not use alkaline water, do not concentrate-spray, do not allow the spray to stand in metal containers for more than 2 hours, and do not apply to weak or stressed plants. Do not allow entry into treated areas for 48 hours. K-Ethephon is an acidic corrosive liquid – wear cotton overalls, elbow-length PVC gloves and a face shield or goggles.

Tips for Best Results
- Follow the label rate and timing: ethephon is very stage-dependent – applying at the wrong growth stage can give uneven results or crop damage.
- Keep the mix acidic: ethephon degrades in alkaline water or tank mixes – do not combine with alkaline products and spray as soon as mixed.
- Mind the temperature: ethylene release and crop response are temperature-dependent; the label gives minimum temperatures for several crops.
- Corrosive & Schedule 6: store locked and upright in the original container in a cool, well-ventilated area away from children and food; wear cotton overalls, elbow-length PVC gloves and eye protection when handling.

It’s a Schedule 6 corrosive acid — wear cotton overalls, elbow-length PVC gloves and chemical goggles or a faceshield, and avoid skin and eye contact. If in eyes, flush with water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention.
