Tips for Best Results
- Weigh animals accurately — never estimate liveweight. Under-dosing reduces efficacy and increases the risk of resistance development; over-dosing wastes product and can stress animals.
- Know your fly population before you treat — synthetic pyrethroid resistance in buffalo fly is widespread across Queensland, including the Gympie and Wide Bay region. If you've used synthetic pyrethroids (such as deltamethrin or cypermethrin) repeatedly with poor results, consider rotating to an organophosphate or macrocyclic lactone-based buffalo fly product. Talk to the team at TGRM on (07) 5482 1692 about resistance monitoring and alternative chemical classes.
- Treat the whole mob at the same time — for lice control especially, untreated animals in the same mob will rapidly reinfest treated cattle. Isolate treated mobs from untreated cattle for the duration of the withholding period for lice control.
- Rotate chemical classes — as a synthetic pyrethroid, Easy Dose belongs to one resistance group. Rotating between registered chemical classes (e.g., organophosphates, macrocyclic lactones) across treatment rounds helps slow the development of resistance in both lice and fly populations on your property.
- Storage and records — store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and out of reach of children and animals. Record the date of treatment, number of animals treated, batch number, and dose applied. Good records support resistance management decisions and are valuable at sale time.
Always read the label and follow directions for use. The registered label is the legal document governing use of this product.
