Weld or bolt the saddle bracket to your upright post at the height required for each rail run. Slide the oval cattle rail into the saddle and secure with plug welds, pop rivets, or bolts as appropriate for your yard design. Space saddles consistently at each upright so rails sit level across the full yard or race length. Tips: Set saddles at the correct height on all uprights before installing rail — it's much easier to adjust saddle position before the rail is in place. Use a chalk line or level to keep all saddles on the same horizontal plane across multiple uprights. Welding provides the strongest saddle attachment; bolt-through fixing suits applications where future disassembly may be needed.
