The Speedy Feeder calf feed bottle, this drencher uses a standard and well-proven design rigid drench probe.

This gives a useful flow-adjustable stomach feeder.

The probe assembly (probe with lid) is available separately to fit your standard Speedy Feeder bottle. (Not suitable for Easy Feeder as cap does not have an air inlet).

NB: Full container must not be carried by probe.

What It's Used For

The Shoof Speedy Calf Drencher is a 4-litre stomach feeder designed for delivering milk, colostrum, electrolytes or liquid supplements directly to young calves. It uses a rigid drench probe in a standard, well-proven design that gives you reliable flow control when feeding newborn or weak calves that can't suckle on their own.

The drencher is built around the popular Speedy Feeder bottle, making it a practical and familiar piece of kit for dairy and beef cattle operations. The flow-adjustable probe assembly lets you manage delivery rate to suit each calf, reducing the risk of aspiration or overfeeding.

Fill the 4L drencher with warm colostrum (37-39°C) and attach the appropriate teat. Feed at 10% of the calf's birth bodyweight within the first 12 hours of life—for example, a 40kg calf should receive 4L. Ensure the teat flow rate requires gentle suction to stimulate natural feeding behaviour. After each use, immediately rinse and sterilise all equipment with hot water and sanitiser before the next feed. Tips: Always administer colostrum in the critical first 6-12 hours after birth, as immunoglobulin absorption closes off after 24 hours and cannot be recovered. Maintain milk temperature between 37-39°C (body temperature) for optimal intake and digestion. Never reuse equipment without thorough cleaning and sterilisation—bacteria growth can cause serious illness in young calves. Tips for Best Results

  • Always check that the probe assembly is firmly attached to the bottle lid before use — a loose connection can cause leaks or uncontrolled flow.
  • Never carry a full bottle by the probe — always support the bottle from the base or handle to avoid damaging the probe assembly or causing an accident.
  • This drencher is designed for use with the Speedy Feeder bottle and is not compatible with the Easy Feeder, as the cap on the Easy Feeder does not have an air inlet.
  • Rinse and sanitise all components after every single use — milk and colostrum residue can harbour bacteria quickly, especially in warm Queensland conditions.
  • Store the drencher disassembled in a clean, dry location out of direct sunlight to extend the life of the probe and bottle.
