Trifecta Triple Active Drench for Sheep and Cattle is a triple drench that defends sheep and cattle against drench resistance.

Trifecta contains three (3) different active ingredients to kill worms.

Even if a worm population is resistant to one active, the others will kill it.

As a result, triple combination drenches are recognised as a very effective tool in long-term drench strategies.

Trifecta Triple Active Drench for Sheep and Cattle is for the treatment and control of internal parasites of sheep, including those resistant to Macrocyclic Lactone (ML), Benzimidazole (BZ) or Levamisole (LEV) drench families.

Trifecta Triple Active Drench for Sheep and Cattle is for treating and controlling internal parasites of cattle, including those resistant to the Macrocyclic Lactone (ML) drench family.

Trifecta Triple Active Drench for Sheep and Cattle is used to supplement diets that may be deficient in selenium and cobalt.

Trifecta for Cattle:

Trifecta Triple Active Drench can be used on cattle over 100kg and over 16 weeks of age to treat and control internal parasites, including those resistant to ML (Macrocyclic Lactone) drench families.

Trifecta is an ideal strategic drench for cattle producers to use:

When introducing any new stock to the property.
As a weaning drench.
When routine worm egg counts indicate, drenching is required.
As an ‘exit’ or ‘tail-cutter’ drench, where a long-acting drench has been used, and it is close to the end of the product’s period of persistent activity (or sooner where worm egg counts indicate drenching is required)

Treatment of Adult gastrointestinal roundworms in cattle:

Barber’s Pole Worm
Small Brown Stomach Worm
Stomach Hair Worm
Black Scour Worm
Small Intestinal Worm
Thin Necked Intestinal Worm
Hookworm
Nodule Worm

Trifecta for Sheep:

Trifecta Triple Active Drench can be used on sheep over 15kg and over 6 weeks of age to treat and control internal parasites, including those:

Resistant to ML (Macrocyclic Lactone) drench families.
Resistant to BZ (Benzimidazole) drench families.
Resistant to LEV (Levamisole) drench families.

Trifecta is an ideal strategic drench for sheep products to use:

When introducing any new stock to the property.
As a weaning drench.
When routine worm egg counts indicate drenching is required, e.g. Autumn drenching of adult animals.
As an ‘exit’ or ‘tail-cutter’ drench, where a long-acting drench has been used, and it is close to the end of the product’s period of persistent activity (or sooner where worm egg counts indicate drenching is required)

Treatment of Adult gastrointestinal roundworms in sheep:

Barber’s Pole Worm
Small Brown Stomach Worm
Stomach Hair Worm
Black Scour Worm (resistant to a combination of benzimidazoles and levamisole)
Small Intestinal Worm
Thin Necked Intestinal Worm
Hookworm
Intestinal Threadworm
Large Bowel Worm
Nodule worm
Large Mouthed Bowel Worm
Whipworm

Tips for Best Results

  • Weigh animals accurately — never estimate liveweight. Dose to the heaviest animal in the mob to avoid under-dosing, which is one of the leading causes of drench resistance on Australian properties.
  • Macrocyclic Lactone (ML) resistance is widespread in Australian sheep and cattle worm populations, particularly barber's pole worm. Trifecta's triple-combination formula means that even if worms are resistant to the ML component, the BZ and LEV actives (in sheep) continue to work — significantly improving kill rates compared to single or double active drenches.
  • Preserve refugia — WormBoss recommends never drenching 100% of your mob unless absolutely necessary. Leaving a proportion of low-risk animals undrenched maintains a susceptible worm population in refugia on pasture, which dilutes resistant worm genetics and slows the development of resistance over time. Talk to your vet or animal health advisor about refugia-based strategies suited to your property.
  • Conduct a Drench Efficacy Test (DrenchCheck) — perform worm egg counts 10–14 days after drenching to confirm the product is working effectively on your property. If you're seeing unexpected production losses or worm burdens, contact TGRM on (07) 5482 1692 for advice on resistance testing options.
  • Storage and records — store Trifecta below 30°C away from direct sunlight. Keep accurate treatment records including date, animals treated, liveweights, batch number, and withholding periods to support your property's parasite management plan and livestock movement compliance.

Common Questions

What animals is Trifecta safe to use on?

Trifecta Triple Active Oral Drench is registered for use on sheep over 15 kg and over 6 weeks of age, and on cattle over 100 kg and over 16 weeks of age. Always check the product label to confirm your animals meet the minimum weight and age requirements before use.

How does a triple active drench help with worm resistance?

Trifecta contains three different active ingredients. If a worm population has developed resistance to one active, the other two are still likely to be effective. This makes triple combination drenches a valuable part of a long-term drench resistance management strategy for your property.

What internal parasites does Trifecta treat?

Trifecta is registered to treat and control a range of adult gastrointestinal roundworms in both sheep and cattle, including Barber's Pole Worm, Small Brown Stomach Worm, Stomach Hair Worm, Black Scour Worm, and several species of intestinal worms. For sheep, it also targets worms resistant to Macrocyclic Lactone, Benzimidazole, and Levamisole drench families. For cattle, it targets worms resistant to Macrocyclic Lactone drenches. See the label for the full list.

Where can I find dosing and application instructions?

All dosing rates, application methods, and safety directions are on the registered product label. You must read and follow the label carefully before use. If you have questions about how to use Trifecta safely and effectively, contact TGRM on (07) 5482 1692, visit us at 55 Tozer St, Gympie, or speak to your veterinarian or livestock adviser.

Does Trifecta provide any mineral supplementation?

Yes. Trifecta also contains cobalt and selenium, which are used to supplement diets that may be deficient in these minerals. This makes it useful as a drench that addresses both parasite control and mineral support in one product.
