Australian Cattle Backrubs Backrubber 3m Self Oiling at a glance
Suitable for
Cattle, Horses

AC Backrubs are high quality backrubs for cattle and horses.

They are made from super absorbent jute, robust continuous nylon braid and each rub has 1 m of 6 mm HD gal chain on each end.

Self-feeding backrubs include clamp and tap.

The backrub is a tool to apply a fly management solution to livestock. The fly control solution is applied to the cattle as they rub themselves against the backrub, allowing cattle to treat themselves as they require.

The backrubs need to be pre-soaked with a fly management solution before use; they are not effective on their own. AC Backrubs recommends ONLY using its specifically formulated Backrub oils.

AC Backrubs recommends hanging it between two trees in a cattle camp or near a watering point. Rubs should be put near water holes or shady camps where the livestock have full access to them. Pre-soak the backrub in a fly control solution in a container (e.g. drum, tub, or bin) for at least 4 hours. Hang the backrub over the container to drain the excess solution for at least 10 hours. When re-bottling the excess solution, strain through shade cloth to prevent blockage in the self-feeder mechanism. During the summer months when fly infestation is at its worst, the tap should be opened enough to service the backrub – approximately 1 drop per minute. If the solution is dripping onto the ground, the tap is open too much.
