Waratah Wizard Wire Strainer

Grips wire securely to efficiently tension plain and barbed fence wire

Can be firmly attached around the strainer post with the 1.8m chain provided or 4.5m chains can be purchased separately for longer strains

Used with the Wedgelock clamp to strain prefabricated fencing

Standard unit: 1.80m chain with optional 4.50m chain available

Install the strainer at the end of your wire run, securing it firmly to a post or anchor point. Feed your wire through the Gripple joiner mechanism and pull tight using the strainer handle or lever to achieve even tension across the fence line. Make sure the wire sits evenly in the joiner teeth and check tension by hand before moving on to the next section—you want it snug but not over-stressed. Tips: Don't over-tighten on the first go; tension the wire in stages and come back to it after a few days as it'll settle. Keep the joiner mechanism clean and free of dirt and rust, otherwise the wire won't grip properly and you'll lose tension over time. Always use matching wire gauge throughout your run—mixing heavy and light wire causes uneven strain and premature failure at weak points.
