Mount the W-0 head on its bracket at a comfortable height for reading, or use it sitting flat or handheld. Switch it on, pair it with the free Gallagher Animal Performance app over Bluetooth, and zero (tare) the empty platform before you start. Run an animal on, let it stand square and settle, then read or lock the weight — weights record to the app in real time. Add a Gallagher handheld EID reader to link weights to animal IDs (Animal Performance Plus subscription required). Tips: Weigh on firm, level ground and keep the platform and load bars clean and dry for accurate, repeatable readings. Weigh stock at a similar time and condition each session (for example before feeding) so you're comparing like with like. Give each animal a few seconds to stand still — rushing them onto the scale gives jumpy readings. Recharge the internal battery between big sessions; it runs up to 30 hours on a charge.
