Attach the RTSDC1 dust cover securely to the top of your RTS001 or RTS004 Rapidplas water trough to keep out debris, leaves, and contaminants. Ensure the trough is positioned on level, well-drained ground with partial shade to minimise algae growth and water temperature rise. Install a float valve to prevent overflow and maintain consistent water levels for your livestock. Clean the trough monthly and inspect the cover regularly for damage or wear. Tips: Position your trough in partial shade during Queensland's hot summers—water temperature can affect consumption rates, and cooler water encourages cattle to drink more, especially in heat stress conditions. The dust cover reduces algae bloom significantly, but still disinfect the trough periodically and remove any accumulated debris from the cover to maintain water quality. Use the trough's portability advantage by relocating it during rotational grazing to prevent overgrazing around the watering point.
