180CM WARATAH GALSTAR MAXY JIO STEEL FENCE POST 300987 at a glance

The 180cm Jio Maxy Post is twice as strong and double the profile of the Jio Star post., this is a reliable intermediate post option that improves ground holding & performance.

It has the strength to resist higher impact loads while still being easier to transport and install compared to timber, concrete and pipe.

Waratah have developed the Jio MaxY post to be bigger, stronger, more ductile and with more attachment points than other posts.

The life of the post is extended with hot dipped galvanized coating (min 600g/m2) providing the best steel corrosion protection.

More Jio post holes improve wire alignment and while the oversize hole shape provides more attachment options than traditional Y posts with round holes. Their design flexibility allows them to line up with traditional Y post round holes.

Tough enough to resist fracturing under stress, yet flexible enough to allow restraightening if deformed from significant force these posts are quick and easy to install with a manual post driver.

Use with Jio wire clips for fast & secure fixing of wires and with other accessories such as ties and electrics.

Fence post spacing — a quick guideLine posts (star pickets) carry the wires between your strainer posts. As a rough starting point: crop or exclusion fence about 5 m, sheep about 4 m, cattle about 4 m on flat ground and about 3 m on hilly ground. Space them closer together for more wires, larger or pushier stock, and undulating country. Let your strainer posts do the anchoring at ends, corners, gateways and any change of direction or slope.

Drive the 180cm Waratah Galstar Maxy JIO post to 600mm depth using a post driver, giving approximately 120cm above ground. The Maxy profile is heavier and more rigid than the standard JIO post, making it suited to corners, exposed fence runs, areas with high cattle density, and any location where extra post stiffness reduces movement. Attach wire at the pre-formed notches using Waratah droppers, staples, or Gripple joiners. Tips: The Maxy's additional steel weight means it's harder to drive by hand — a hydraulic post driver is recommended for larger quantities. Its added stiffness pays off on ridgelines and in scrubby country where fence lines get knocked regularly. Compatible with all Waratah fencing accessories.

Common Questions

What makes the Jio Maxy post different from other fence posts?

The Jio Maxy post is twice as strong and has double the profile of the Jio Star post. It's designed to be bigger, stronger, more ductile and with more attachment points than other posts. It resists higher impact loads while being easier to transport and install than timber, concrete or pipe.

How is it protected against rust?

The post has a hot dipped galvanized coating that provides the best steel corrosion protection and extends the life of the post.

What should I use to attach wire to this post?

Use Jio wire clips for fast and secure fixing of wires. The post also works with other accessories such as ties and electrics.

Will it bend if it gets hit or deformed?

The post is tough enough to resist fracturing under stress, but flexible enough to allow straightening if deformed from significant force. This makes it more forgiving than brittle alternatives.
