The Waratah 165cm steel post are a strong and lightweight fencing solution, constructed from high grade steel and coated with a black bituminous coating for long lasting performance in the outdoors.

All holes are pre-punched for your convenience

Fence post spacing — a quick guideLine posts (star pickets) carry the wires between your strainer posts. As a rough starting point: crop or exclusion fence about 5 m, sheep about 4 m, cattle about 4 m on flat ground and about 3 m on hilly ground. Space them closer together for more wires, larger or pushier stock, and undulating country. Let your strainer posts do the anchoring at ends, corners, gateways and any change of direction or slope.

Drive the 165cm Waratah Black Steel post to 500mm depth using a post driver, leaving approximately 115cm above ground. This height suits internal paddock subdivision, laneways, and lighter-duty internal fencing applications. Attach wire at the pre-formed notches in the post. Tips: The 165cm height is best suited to internal fencing — for cattle and sheep boundary fencing, 180cm+ posts giving 120cm+ above ground are the standard. As with all black-finish posts, check regularly for paint damage and touch up to prevent corrosion. Compatible with all Waratah fencing accessories including droppers and Gripple joiners.
