Ironcyclen liquid is an iron supplement for horses
Ironcyclen Liquid contains iron, copper and cobalt to supplement diets which may be deficient in these essential minerals.
Racing, training and other forms of hard exercise increases the requirement for iron.
Ironcyclen is a specially formulated supplement to maximise haemoglobin and red blood cell production which helps improve the oxygen carrying capacity of the blood for peak performance.

Dosage & Directions for Use:
Horses (450 - 500 kg):
45 - 75 mL daily in feed or as directed by a veterinary surgeon.
Performance horses:
Early Training:
Maximum of 75 mL daily in early training for the first 6 weeks.
Hard Training:
Give 45 mL daily in a “3 days on, 3 days off” routine while in hard training, increasing to a maximum of 75 mL daily if required.
“Booster” courses of FBC Bloodffod at key training times will stimulate the bone marrow so that it can respond to the increased demand for more cells.
Breeding horses:
45 – 75 mL daily in a “3 days on, 3 days off” routine.
Iron Deficiency Anaemia:
45 – 75 mL daily until anaemia corrected (usually 14 - 28 days) or as per veterinary advice.

Shake well before use. Ironcyclen is a molasses-flavoured liquid, so it mixes readily through feed or can be given orally by syringe over the back of the tongue.
Horses (450-500 kg): 45-75 mL daily in feed, or as directed by your veterinary surgeon.
Early training: a maximum of 75 mL daily for the first six weeks.
Hard training: 45 mL daily on a "3 days on, 3 days off" routine, increasing to a maximum of 75 mL daily if required.
Breeding horses: 45-75 mL daily on a "3 days on, 3 days off" routine.
Iron deficiency anaemia: 45-75 mL daily until the anaemia is corrected - usually 14 to 28 days - or as advised by your veterinarian.
Store below 30°C with the cap firmly closed and out of direct sun.
Tips: Do not feed Ironcyclen in the same feed as vitamin E - direct contact with iron reduces the vitamin's effectiveness, so split them between the morning and evening feed. Iron on its own will not correct every low blood count, so if a horse is not responding have blood work done before lifting the dose. With fussy feeders, introduce it gradually; the molasses base usually wins them over inside a few days.

- Keep iron and vitamin E apart - do not put Ironcyclen and a vitamin E supplement in the same feed, as contact with iron reduces the vitamin's effectiveness. Split them across the morning and evening feed.
- Only 15-18% of the iron in an average horse's diet is absorbed, which is why the three iron forms in Ironcyclen matter more than the raw iron figure on a label.
- The copper and cobalt are not filler - without those co-factors a horse cannot build red blood cells properly no matter how much iron it gets.
- Use the "3 days on, 3 days off" routine through hard training rather than dosing flat out; it is the pattern Virbac recommends and it stretches the bottle.
- If you are treating suspected anaemia, get a blood count first and again after 14-28 days so you know whether it is actually working.
- Store below 30°C. In a Queensland summer that means the feed room, not the back of the ute.

What does Ironcyclen actually do?
Ironcyclen is a liquid iron supplement that supports haemoglobin and red blood cell production, which is what carries oxygen around a working horse. It supplies three readily absorbed forms of iron plus copper and cobalt, the co-factors a horse needs to turn that iron into red blood cells.
How much do I give?
For a 450-500 kg horse, 45-75 mL daily in the feed. Which horses is it aimed at?

Can I feed it with other supplements?
Generally yes, with one important exception: do not put Ironcyclen in the same feed as a vitamin E supplement. Direct contact with iron reduces vitamin E's effectiveness, so give them in separate feeds.
Will fussy horses eat it?
It is a molasses-flavoured liquid and most horses take it readily mixed through feed. For a genuinely fussy horse, start with a smaller amount and build up over a few days, or give it orally by syringe over the back of the tongue.
