Cattle: prevention of enterotoxaemia (pulpy kidney disease), tetanus, black disease, malignant oedema (blackleg-like disease), blackleg and leptospirosis (L. Pomona and L. Hardjo); prevention of urinary shedding of the named leptospires and of reproductive tract colonisation and placental and foetal infection with L. Hardjo.

The dose on all occasions is 2.5 mL injected subcutaneously (just under the skin). The recommended site for injection is high on the neck, behind the ear. This product must be injected only under the skin (subcutaneously). Use the shortest possible needle, not exceeding 15 mm in length. To begin a herd vaccination programme, all animals must be vaccinated and a second dose given 4-6 weeks later. An annual booster dose of vaccine must be given. Calves may be first vaccinated from 1 month of age. Two doses should be given, 4-6 weeks apart. Calves less than 3 months of age at the time of the second vaccination should receive a single booster dose 6 months later. Breeding females should be given their annual booster about a month before calving or at drying off. The two basic doses of Ultravac 7 in 1 should provide effective immunity against enterotoxaemia for three months. Booster doses are therefore necessary to maintain immunity against enterotoxaemia in cattle and should be given at appropriate intervals according to local and seasonal conditions. For protection against L. Hardjo infection, the initial vaccination regimen or booster should be completed before the season of greatest risk of transmission of leptospires. Shake well before use and keep thoroughly mixed during use. Sterilise all injection apparatus by boiling in water for 10 minutes (or equivalent) before use. As far as possible avoid injection of animals during wet weather or under dusty conditions. Store between 2 °C and 8 °C (refrigerate, do not freeze). Protect from light. This product can be stored and used for up to 30 days after first opening. On each subsequent reuse, swab the opening with a suitable disinfectant (e.g. methylated spirits) both before and after using. A sterile needle and syringe must be used each time product is removed.
