Unroll the tape and thread it through the Gallagher insulators on your posts, keeping it tight and level. For temporary subdivision, you can simply clip the tape to existing posts with insulator clips or tie it off with knots. Make sure you've got a decent energiser connected to one end of the circuit and a good earth stake driven in at least a metre deep. Run the tape back to your energiser along the same route so you've got a complete circuit. Tips: Keep the tape pulled tight as you go—slack tape will sag in the sun and lose contact with your animals' coats, which kills conductivity. White tape shows up well to horses in the paddock, but check your lines regularly because this material can degrade in harsh UV, especially in full Queensland sun. If you're doing a long run over 500 metres, consider running two tapes in parallel to reduce resistance and keep your voltage drop acceptable.
