Position the trough on level ground in your stable, yard or paddock with easy access for livestock. Connect the inlet to your water supply using the float valve mechanism, which automatically maintains water level. Ensure the trough is secured firmly to prevent tipping. Turn on the water supply and check that the float valve operates smoothly before allowing stock access. Tips: Place the trough in a shaded area where possible to reduce algae growth and water temperature fluctuations. Check water levels daily and monitor the float valve for any debris that may prevent proper operation. Position away from heavy traffic areas to minimize contamination from mud and manure. What size is this water trough?

It's 2500mm long, 600mm wide, and 480mm tall overall. The capacity is 400 litres.

Can I use this trough on both sides of a fence?

Yes. It has a centre-mounted float system that can service either side of a fence with one inlet, so you can water stock on both sides without needing two separate troughs.

How do I drain it?

There's a 2" drain bung at either end, so you can drain from whichever end is most convenient.

Will it hold up in the Australian sun?

Yes. It's all poly and UV stabilised to withstand tough Australian conditions. The float system is also fully protected.
