For the treatment and control of gastrointestinal parasites including those that have single, dual or triple resistance to macrocyclic lactones (including abamectin resistant strains), benzimidazoles, imidazothiazoles (levamisole/morantel) or monepantel.

What Is Tridectin 3-Way Oral Drench for Sheep:

Tridectin is a triple combination drench containing moxidectin, levamisole and albendazole, members respectively of the macrocyclic lactone (“mectin” drench), imidazothiazole (clear drench) and benzimidazole (white drench) chemical families.

Recommended For:

Tridectin 3-Way Oral Drench for Sheep provides treatment and control of sensitive and single, dual or triple resistant strains of the following gastrointestinal parasites of sheep:
Barber’s pole worm Haemonchus contortus*,
Stomach hair worm Trichostrongylus axei*,
Black scour worm Trichostrongylus colubriformis*, Trichostrongylus rugatus, Trichostrongylus vitrinus,
Small brown stomach worm Teladorsagia (Ostertagia) circumcincta*, Teladorsagia (Ostertagia) trifurcata, Teladorsagia (Ostertagia) davtiani,
Small intestinal worm Cooperia punctata*, Cooperia spp.,
Thin necked intestinal worm Nematodirus spathiger, Nematodirus spp.,
Nodule worm Oesophagostomum columbianum, Oesophagostomum spp., Whipworm Trichuris ovis.
*including immature fourth stage (L4) larva

Why Choose Tridectin 3-Way Oral Drench for Sheep:

Tridectin is the only 3-way combination drench in Australia to include moxidectin, the most potent and persistent mectin.
Potency drives drench sustainability by minimising the number of resistant worms that survive and continue breeding. This is in turn improves animal productivity because sheep are relatively worm free.
Persistent drenches extend the period of protection from infestation and consequently aids in maintaing productivity for longer.
Tridectin is developed with patented micellar formulation technology for improved stability and rapid absorption.
Tridectin is the only drench that controls worms with single, double or triple resistance to white, clear or mectin drenches or monepantel. This helps to protect the efficacy of effective active ingredients (including moxidectin, monepantel and derquantel).
Ideal for use as first summer drench, pre-lambing drench or lamb drench.

  • Weigh animals before treatment — never estimate liveweight.
  • Dose to the heaviest animal in the mob. Do not underdose.
  • Draft ewes, wethers, rams and lambs into separate weight groups where bodyweights vary widely.
  • Calibrate drenching equipment before and during use.

Tips for Best Results

  • Weigh accurately, every time. Liveweight estimation is one of the most common causes of underdosing in sheep. Use scales and dose to the heaviest animal in the mob — this applies to every drenching event, not just when using a combination product.
  • Benzimidazole (white drench) resistance is widespread in Queensland. Using albendazole as part of a triple combination like Tridectin helps restore efficacy where single-active BZ drenches have failed, but this does not mean resistance has been reversed — it means the other two actives are carrying the load against resistant worms. Always conduct DrenchCheck or DrenchTest (larval development assay) on your property so you know the resistance status of your worm populations before selecting a drench strategy.
  • Protect refugia. WormBoss strongly recommends leaving a proportion of low-risk animals (such as well-conditioned adult ewes) undrenched where practical. Worms surviving in untreated animals remain susceptible and dilute any resistant worms that survive treatment, slowing the development of resistance on your property. Discuss a refugia strategy suited to your operation with the team at TGRM.
  • Rotate with purpose, not by habit. Routine rotation between drench classes without knowing your resistance status can accelerate resistance. Use WormBoss DrenchDecide tools and talk to your vet or advisor about a resistance-informed drenching program for your property.
  • Storage and records. Store below 25°C, out of direct sunlight and away from children and animals. Keep a drenching record including date, product, batch number, dose used, animals treated and liveweights — this is essential for resistance monitoring and for meeting market assurance requirements.

Common Questions

What parasites does Tridectin 3-Way treat in sheep?

Tridectin treats a broad range of gastrointestinal parasites in sheep, including barber's pole worm, stomach hair worm, black scour worm, small brown stomach worm, small intestinal worm, thin necked intestinal worm, nodule worm and whipworm. It's effective against sensitive strains as well as those with single, dual or triple resistance to macrocyclic lactones, benzimidazoles, imidazothiazoles or monepantel.

Why is Tridectin different from other drenches?

Tridectin is a triple combination drench containing moxidectin, levamisole and albendazole. It's the only 3-way combination drench in Australia that includes moxidectin, which is the most potent and persistent mectin available. This helps minimise resistant worms surviving and breeding, and extends the period of protection against infestation.

When should I use Tridectin?

Tridectin is ideal for use as a first summer drench, pre-lambing drench or lamb drench. For specific timing and frequency recommendations suited to your flock and local conditions, consult your veterinarian or agronomist.

What do I need to know about withholding periods?

Tridectin has important withholding and export slaughter interval requirements that must be strictly observed. Always read the product label carefully before use, or contact TGRM on (07) 5482 1692 or visit 55 Tozer St, Gympie for specific guidance on your situation.

Where can I find dosing instructions and the safety information?

Complete dosing instructions, withholding periods, safety directions and contraindications are detailed on the registered product label. An SDS (Safety Data Sheet) is also available. Always read the label carefully before use, or contact your veterinarian, agronomist, or TGRM on (07) 5482 1692 for advice.
