Calves: pain relief following castration and disbudding or dehorning. Lambs: pain relief following castration, tail docking and mulesing. Piglets: to mitigate pain during and for up to 4 hours following castration and tail docking. Horses: traumatic superficial skin wounds.

Use of the special TRI-SOLFEN applicator is recommended. Calves – castration (total dose): 30–100 kg 6 mL; ≥100 kg 9 mL. Expose the spermatic cord through the scrotal incision, apply one third of the dose to each spermatic cord as the applicator is withdrawn, remove the testicles as per normal procedure, then apply the final one third to the edges of the scrotal skin wound(s). Calves – disbudding or dehorning: 4 mL per horn (hot iron disbudding, calves < 3 months; scoop, cup or knife disbudding or dehorning, calves > 3 months). Immediately after each horn, apply to completely cover the wound including the surrounding burn wound or cut skin edge. Do not spray to run-off. Take care to prevent TRI-SOLFEN getting into the eyes of treated calves. Lambs (mulesing / tail docking / castration total dose): 5–10 kg 6 mL / 1.5 mL / 3 mL; 11–15 kg 8 mL / 2 mL / 4.5 mL; 16–20 kg 10 mL / 2 mL / 4.5 mL; ≥20 kg 12 mL / 2 mL / 4.5 mL. Castration as for calves. Apply to the wound immediately after mulesing or tail docking, evenly covering the entire wound area, particularly wound edges. Do not spray to run-off. In lambs, insecticidal preparations can be applied to the wound after application of TRI-SOLFEN to prevent fly strike. Piglets (tail docking / castration total dose): 1–2 kg 0.5 mL / 1.0 mL; 2–4 kg 0.5 mL / 2.0 mL; ≥4 kg 0.5 mL / 4.0 mL. Castration: instil into the scrotal wound immediately after skin incision to fully coat the spermatic cords and cut skin edges, then wait 30 seconds before severing the spermatic cord. Tail docking: apply to the wound immediately after docking. Do not spray to run-off. Horses – superficial skin wounds: may be applied once daily for up to 7 days. Apply 1 mL per 4 cm² of wound area (e.g. 100 cm² needs 25 mL), evenly covering the entire wound, particularly the edges. Do not spray to run-off. Not intended for wounds near the mouth, eyes and nostrils. Do not exceed 80 mL. Not intended to replace the need for attention of a veterinary surgeon.
