Push the post firmly into the ground at your desired fence line, using your boot or a mallet if the ground is hard—no tools needed. Slide the wire or tape through the ring top, making sure it sits securely in the groove. Space posts roughly 2-3 metres apart for temporary fencing, depending on terrain and stock type. Once your temporary fence is up, you can move these posts whenever you need to rotate paddocks or adjust your grazing. Tips: In dry, hard ground, push the post in at a slight angle and use a bit of twist as you go—it'll find its way in easier than straight force. Check your ring top regularly after a few days; sometimes ground settles and you may need to tap the post down a bit further to keep tension on your wire. Make sure you're using adequate earthing stakes on your temporary setup, or you'll lose voltage faster than you'd think.

Common Questions

What's this post designed for?

The TREAD-IN Heavy Duty Ring Top Post is built for portable electric fencing, especially on hard and stony ground. It's a popular choice for dairy and beef cattle operations.

What makes it different from a standard post?

This post has a few standout features. The 7mm steel shaft is extra heavy duty and resists bending when you drive it into tough ground. The glass-reinforced nylon head has no metal in it, so there's no risk of shorting. The unique Ring Top design sits centred over the shaft with no sticking-out bits, which means reduced tangling and less wear on your fencing. The foot plate can handle 360kg of pressure without bending, and the 7mm steel spike at the bottom stops the post rotating once it's in.

How do I pull the post out?

The Ring Top head is designed as a convenient handle, so you can grab it and pull the post straight out of the ground when you need to relocate.

What warranty does it come with?

The TREAD-IN Heavy Duty Ring Top Post comes with a 2-year warranty.
