Install the 40mm buckle onto your gate tape by threading the tape through the slots on either side of the buckle. Attach one end of your gate tape to the fence post using a standard insulator or end connector, then connect the other end to your electric fence line. The spring mechanism on the buckle allows the gate to swing open when pushed through, then automatically return to close the circuit when released. Tips: Keep the tape clean and dry around the buckle contact points to maintain a good electrical connection—dirt and moisture will cause you to lose power through the gate. Test your gate setup with a fault finder before you rely on it to hold stock, as a poor connection at the buckle will drop your voltage significantly. Make sure your spring tension is strong enough to fully close the gate without requiring a hard push, or stock will learn they can lean through it.
