TANK LEVELLER VALVE HANSEN SHOOF 215870 at a glance

The Hansen Tank Leveller Valve is supplied as a complete kit with 115mm weighted ball, 140mm blue threaded float, 2.5m nylon cord and adaptors for 32mm, 40mm and 50mm inlet pipes.

This device enables setting minimum and maximum water levels.

This prevents the constant turn on and off, of the pump whenever minimal amounts of water are drawn off.

This system combines well with rain harvesting, allowing the pump to turn on only when a minimum water level is reached.

Install the Tank Leveller Valve Hansen Shoof into your rural poly pipe system by first identifying your pipe size (measure inner diameter in inches: 3/4", 1", 1.25", 1.5", or 2"). For barb connections, slide the fitting onto the pipe and secure with stainless steel hose clamps on both sides. For threaded connections, apply thread tape to the male threads before screwing into the female fitting. Ensure the valve is positioned vertically or as per manufacturer instructions for proper operation. Tips: Always use stainless steel clamps on barb fittings to prevent corrosion in Queensland's climate and ensure a watertight seal. Check that your entire system matches the pipe pressure rating of 800kPa — mixing incompatible fittings can cause leaks. For gravity-fed systems, the leveller valve typically mounts at tank outlet level to automatically control water flow into troughs.

Common Questions

What comes in the Hansen Tank Leveller Valve kit?

The kit includes a 115mm weighted ball, 140mm blue threaded float, 2.5m nylon cord, and adaptors for 32mm, 40mm and 50mm inlet pipes.

What does a tank leveller valve do?

It lets you set minimum and maximum water levels in your tank. This stops the pump from constantly turning on and off when only small amounts of water are being used. It works well with rain harvesting systems — the pump will only turn on once the water level drops to your set minimum.

What size inlet pipes does this valve fit?

The kit comes with adaptors for 32mm, 40mm and 50mm inlet pipes.
