Mount the windvane adaptor to your existing Gallagher tank level indicator frame using the provided brackets, ensuring it's positioned to catch wind from the prevailing direction on your property. Attach the adaptor's shaft to the windvane mechanism and secure all fasteners firmly — vibration from wind will loosen poor connections. Run the indicator cable back to your energiser following the same route as your fence wire, keeping it clear of ground and away from machinery traffic. Once installed, test the indicator by manually rotating the windvane to confirm it's registering movement correctly. Tips: Mount your adaptor on the highest point of the tank or tank stand where it'll catch clean wind — blocked or sheltered positions give you false readings and you'll end up checking the tank manually anyway. Keep the windvane shaft and bearings lightly oiled during dry seasons; dust and rust will jam it up faster than you'd think. Install a small drip loop in the cable where it enters your energiser box to prevent water running down into the terminals.
