Tail Paint is a weather resistant cattle marker formulated for the beef and dairy industry.

Provides bright, easy to see colours for identification in all weather conditions.

Cleantec Tail Paint is suitable for both heat detection and animal identification.

Do NOT use on sheep.

Apply tail paint to the tail head area of cows at the start of the anticipated oestrus period, extending a line of paint from the tailhead down the backbone approximately 15–20cm. The paint is rubbed off by mounting activity, indicating a cow in standing heat. Check cows twice daily — morning and afternoon — and record cows showing smeared or rubbed paint as detected in oestrus. Tips: Tail paint works best when applied to a clean, dry tailhead surface. In wet conditions, allow paint to dry briefly before returning cows to pasture. In Queensland's humid climate, apply a slightly heavier coat than normal to ensure the paint adheres. Replace paint every 3–4 weeks or more frequently if it wears off due to weather.
